I have taken all the necessary early childhood requirements for a preschool teaching certificate. I have worked at Baldwin Academy in Pacific Beach as a lead teacher for the 3-year-old class. I have experience in developing an academic plan for all ages according to their developmental stage, including toilet training. I also have worked for SAY San Diego, an after school program for elementary schools. For a time, I stopped teaching and went into the corporate world. I quit the corporate world to open a home daycare to provide the structured, positive environment I wanted for my children that seemed so hard to find in most in home daycares. A family childcare program should include a variety of developmentally appropriate activities, a mix of structured and unstructured activities, and be a loving environment--and my Little Steps Daycare is all of these things. I love all of my children in my daycare as if they were my own and want to ensure they have the best early years possible. (Three of my children are now successful students in elementary school and one is entering kindergarten.) I have switched my cleaning product to a natural much safer product.
