Established in 1977, the Piedmont Community College Child Development Center holds a 5 Star Rating from the NC Division of Child Development. The Center has a highly qualified and educated staff dedicated to meeting the developmental, educational andsocial needs of young children. The staff strives to create a wholesome, happy and safe environment for the children to develop a positive self-image and a respect for other children and adults. We follow the NC Division of Child Development s recommended curriculum, Creative Curriculum, which offers a variety of social/emotional and educational experiences. We have video monitoring in all classrooms and playground areas. We also have a secure key-pad entrance at our center. This is an added safety feature and only authorized personnel and family members have access to enter our facility without being escorted by a staff member. The center is open to children of students, college staff, and the general public regardless of race, nationality, or creed and has an enrollment capacity of 36 children. Once capacity is reached, a waiting list is established with children of students having first priority. The center is open 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, year-round.
