Pea Pod

We are a non-profit that runs a family cooperative playschool program for children 18 months to 3.5 years old. Our mission is to empower families with resources, such as parenting workshops and social opportunities, and to build community among our participating families. Our playschool focuses on social and emotional skill building, and introduces children to the preschool setting. This is a cooperative program and works best when one parent is not working or has a flexible work schedule. We are not a school or a daycare. This is a community venture and requires your time and engagement. Children attend 3 days. Parents work one shift a week, and drop off 2 shifts per week. Families also have 2 hours per week of committee work and attend monthly parent meetings. A parent coach works alongside parents every shift and provides a consistent face for the playschool. We are open 5 days a week from 9am-1pm. The program enrolls up to 20 families, with a 12 kid maximum attendance on any given day.
