Science Lover And Education Advocate

Hi! My name is Katie and I am a Ph. D. student in Neuroscience at Brown University. While obtaining my degree I have taken part in many outreach programs and have had the chance to teach 3 courses. My passions include neuroscience, math, english and computer science. I believe that any subject can be fun and exciting depending on how you present the information. I have worked tirelessly throughout my career to find new and innovative ways to teach and spread the love of learning. I specialize in teaching students ranging from age 7-18. I am happy to discuss individual learning plans for each child and can bring materials to aid in discussion and learning. I have spent the summer teaching online and feel comfortable with virtual tutoring :) Worth mentioning, during undergraduate, I was a training science and math learning center tutor and did many private tutoring sessions. I look forward to spending time with you and your family!

Katie was hired to tutor our ten year old and two classmates while they were distance learning. She helped them stay on task, attend their virtual meetings, and tutored them when they had questions. Because she is also getting her Ph.D in neuroscience, Katie provided many opportunities for additional enrichment in science and math, planning hands on experiments and leading discussions about genetics, chromatography, coding, taste and the brain. The girls love her. She is fun, approachable, flexible and a fabulous role model for our future scientists.

Hi, I'm Allie! I'm a nanny/babysitter who also loves and cares for dogs. I'm diligent about COVID precautions, and I'm looking to add to my schedule. I am open to new part-time nannying and/or as-needed babysitting opportunities. I'm the sole older sibling of twins, and my formal experience began early: - Age 15-16: Ski Instructor, Attitash Mountain Resort, children 3-8. - Age 16-18: Overnight Camp Counselor / Lifeguard, Camp Bernadette, children 7-15, - Age 17-18: Daycare Assistant, children 6mo.-6 Now 26, I've also served dozens of families as a nanny, babysitter, virtual learning tutor, and dog caregiver. I am gentle, encouraging, and patient, yet firm when needed. I am a goofball, which helps me connect with the kiddos. I care deeply about the families I work for, and will encourage you to reach out to my references! Education: B. A. We were looking for someone to care for our 8 month old, at the time, and I saw Allie's profile and messaged her. She was very responsive and set up a time to do a Zoom meeting. Right away, I had a great feeling about her. She had a great personality and was well spoken, in addition to having a lot of experience. I immediately hired her and asked if she would feel comfortable coming a few days later. She jumped right into the "action", followed directions that I had left, and kept me informed on how the baby was (fussy/not, feeding, etc). We have needed her for last minute things, in addition to our regularly scheduled days, and she has always stepped up and been able to accommodate our crazy schedule. She has been truly amazing on all levels. My son loves her and gets excited when she comes over and I know and can trust that he is in good hands with Allie. I highly recommend Allie to care for your little ones!
