Hello! My name is Bridie and I am currently a student at UB. I am the youngest of five children and have been an aunt since the age of five. I've spent a good amount of time as a Direct Support Professional with children with special needs. I love anything artistic and imaginative! I am very experienced with interactive and educational play. However I am very structured and abide/prefer schedules. I find it very important to be able to empathize with children and validate any feeling they have. Although their problems may be little they're big to them!

Hi, I'm Mandi. I have 21 years of experience as a care giver for children ages newborn to 18 years of age. Over the years I have provided child care for numerous satisfied families and have worked in classroom settings. I was certified in early childhood education in 2005 and have been CPR certified multiple times. I have experience caring for children with special needs and am comfortable caring for multiple children at one time. I'm originally from New York where I started as a child care provider. I moved to Houston, Texas 11 years ago to be with my one true love. During that time I worked full time in the medical field and part time caring for the children of regular clients. I moved to central Texas in the past year and would like earn an extra income in my spare time. With all my years of accumulated experience and the privilege of being the mother to three amazing children ages 9, 3&2. I can assure you that I am safe, reliable, fun and caring. I worked for the State of NY at OPWDD for 15 years. I assist individuals with all activities of daily living, was medication certified, was responsible for following behavior support plans, ISP's, and several other things. I was responsible for making meals, laundry, shopping, cleaning, bathing, appointments and transportation. I enjoyed meeting over 100 different individuals and assisting them.

I have four adopted formerly-special needs teenagers. Two of them have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Others have exposure to drugs/alcohol in utero. As a foster parent specializing in medically fragile infants/children, I learned how to hook up IV meds/fluids, how to work with kids with G tubes and NG tubes, oxygen and apnea/heart rate monitors. I was trained in how to handle behavioral difficulties, etc., as well. I am currently a certified medical assistant in a doctor's office, trained in CPR and first aid.

I am a certified special education teacher. I have experience working with students with various disabilities. I have worked for BOCES for 2 years now as a summer school teacher aide and sub during breaks from school.
