Fairport Special Needs Care

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and would like to work 1:1 with a special needs person. I was a foster parent for a short time in North Texas before I moved to Fairport and I specialized in medically fragile young children. I am experienced with G-tubes, etc.

I began my journey teaching 2nd through 5th grade in Florida. I moved back to New York to be close to my family 30 years ago. The next 10 years, I taught babies and preschoolers in several different environments. I provided home based and center based services to babies and preschoolers from a few months of age to age 5. I traveled to day care centers and head start to provide inclusive services. I now teach a self contained 12:1:1 class of children with varying needs. I have also taught first, third and fourth grade students as a consultant teacher. I have loved every moment of this journey, but my heart is with the children in my self contained classroom. Each day is an adventure, as the children work so hard to exceed beyond the challenges they face.

I am currently a special education teacher serving students with a variety of diagnosis and needs. I have worked primarily with students of ages 4-13, but am capable of working with anyone of any age. I have my teaching certification for special education grades 1-6 and have attended numerous trainings on Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am fun-loving, easy-going, flexible and energetic. I can build strong relationships quickly, as any teacher can! I am more than willing to provide behavior support, academic support, and whatever else is needed. Nothing is off limits if it means helping others!

I have been a paraprofessional (AKA 1:1 aide) for about 3 years now. I worked at Monroe #1 BOCES for 2 yrs doing that, and am now doing the same thing for Pittsford Central School District. I help students one on one throughout their school days and assist with behavior management, academic help, feeding, toileting/diapering on occasion. I've worked with students with a variety of disabilities ages 5-21.

I am an Associate Teacher in Fairport. I work in a classroom with students with multiple disabilities, providing 1:1 support for a 16-year-old male, but also help the classroom teacher with instruction and other tasks. I absolutely love my job and am planning on attending grad school in the fall to get my degree in Adolescent and Special Education.

Hi! I am an elementary school teacher looking for some part time summer work. I am 27 years old and I have been teaching first and second grade for 4 years at Palmyra-Macedon Primary School. I graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. I am certified in both childhood and special education. I have since completed my Masters degree in Literacy Education at St. John Fisher College. I have tons of experience working with children in addition to my four years of teaching, including coaching soccer, working at summer schools and camps, and babysitting for a number of different families. My name is Laurie and I am looking for a new senior care case. I am currently managing a case with an individual who suffers from Alzheimer s, and I have been on the case for 13 and a half years. In the past I have worked with individuals with bladder cancer, cerebral palsy, and dementia. I also have experience with hospice care. Every case comes with its own set of challenges, I am a kind and compassionate person which gives me the ability to serve each case not only to the needs of the specific individual but also to the needs of the family. I also have a daughter with special needs who lives with me at home, and she has taught me the meaning of patience and compassion. My education combined with my experience with raising a child with special needs has given me the ability to appropriate the care to each individual. I absolutely love what l do and I truly care about each of my clients and their families. I am blessed to have the ability to help other people and their families.

I have been interning with a special education teacher all year and hope to next year major in special ed! My passion for working with special education children is incredible and I want to change their lives! I work one on one and tutor many special educ children!
