Seeking care for my loved one in her 60s. Services needed: bathing / dressing, feeding, meal preparation, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. Looking for someone with 3+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training, support for chronic illness. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my loved one: she can be anxious, pleasant, independent. Her name is Barbara. She is wheelchair-bound. Her daughter is at the Treatment Center until December 2nd or 3rd. She is 66 years old and I am her aunt at 79 years old. I have my own health concerns and am worn out already from trying to help her. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, firm, strong, fond of pets. The person will have to be patient with Barbara. She can be stubborn about eating and changing clothes. (she'd rather eat cake or donuts with a beer.)Barbara's illness is Pontine Myelosia. She can stand up but needs help walking. She can only shuffle and tends to lean to her right as she walks. She can get herself around the house fairly well in the wheelchair but hits the walls or doorways. She mostly watches TV or gets on her laptop to watch the Elvis channel. Lighting in her living room is not the best for reading which she also likes to do. She has two large dogs who are very protective and do best with females. (Riely and Rayla are their names.) Her house is very accessible for her wheelchair.
