Schools Are Closing. Need Extra Help?

Hi! I'm Rachel. I typically work with students in my community, but I've recently restarted back on Care. com so I could help out of state and distant families receive quality education during COVID school closing. As a tutor, I love to motivate students and create lessons that are fun, engaging, & meaningful! I have been been both an independent private at home tutor and online tutor for elementary and middle school subjects. I graduated from Northwestern University with a focus on Learning Disabilities and finishing up my Masters at MGH in Boston to pursue a career as a reading specialist. I have been a teacher assistant and then was a lead teacher in Chicago and New York city at the middle school and elementary level for general education & SPED for kids with (language written and reading) learning disabilities, like dyslexia.

Rachel tutored our 3 kids in English (reading, writing, grammar) for the past 6 months. In short, Rachel is AMAZING. Our 1st grader (then kindergartner) went from not reading to reading full sentences and books in only a few months. She was always prepared and was able to push each of our children to be far better writers in a kind and productive way. At first I was worried about it all being online but that wasn't an issue at all. Rachel was able to connect with each of our children in a unique way. We are looking forward to continuing to work with her!!
