I'm blessed to have some truly incredible and very qualified assistants and some terrific families. I am a happily married mother of two grown children who attended the Waldorf School as part of their early education and are graduates of Beverly High. SETTING: The childcare is located in a separate dedicated space in my home that was purpose built for childcare by my husband. The floors are heated, the furniture is custom built and the space is large, bright and welcoming. We have separate napping rooms for the infants and the toddlers. There is an acre of property to play on. Our home sits atop a hill with sunshine abound for outside play, yet has a shaded play area to shelter the children from the summer sun. It's not uncommon to see the children tending the flower or vegetable gardens by watering, picking flowers or food for inside. The children just naturally like to help and take part.

I do have a dog (Lenny) and several cats, while they are all very friendly they are not allowed into the childcare space. My home is air conditioned in the summer months. MY PHILOSOPHY: It is my belief that a loving home child care can offer each child a chance to learn and develop physically, emotionally and intellectually. In order for children to grow and blossom in these areas they must be provided an educationally stimulating, nurturing and safe environment where they can become aware of the world around them through hands on activities and play. Play is your child's practice. I have areas for music, science, art, dramatic play,discovery and building. There's a Book Nook with board books, beginner reading books and picture books. Introducing children to social concepts such as respect, pride, self esteem, and a love of learning is to me equally as important as introducing number/math skills, letter awareness and science concepts. At Kids In The House I value the process of art not product. Children are encouraged to do art for the exploration, the experience and the experimentation. In the "process" of doing art, children discover creativity, mystery, joy, and frustration, which are all important pieces in the puzzle of learning
