Seeking Part-time Senior Care Provider - This is for my mom who...

Part Time $15 – 35/hr Starts 11/26 Colorado Springs, CO
About who needs care: This is for my mom who is 64 and has limited mobility but is very mentally capable except very occasionally when she is overly tired or overwhelmed. She needs help with taking a shower/bathing and feeling comfortable with the amount of time it takes her to get through that task without feeling rushed. She is having a hard time with not being able to do all the tasks she loves doing, especially cooking. I would love to find someone who could spend some time with her who would be willing to do some cooking in tandem with her so she feels like shes participating, but shes not actually standing and being hard on her body. She has a leg injury that desperately needs to heal, but she has such a hard time not living the life shes always lived. About the care needs: Like I stated before, some cooking knowledge would be very helpful. Some knowledge of wrapping wounds would be helpful but not required. Willingness to learn and help with this at least on a limited basis is necessary please. Also as stated before, it is necessary that you are comfortable with assisting with the bathing process in a professional manner. Please also know that there is a small hypoallergenic dog that lives in the residence. He is 13 years old and extremely kind with guests. He generally stays under the dining room table or in his crate and does not bother anyone, but wed like you to know just in case. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.

Hands-on Care Needed For My Mother - My mother is in the beginni...

Part Time $15 – 15/hr Starts 11/25 Colorado Springs, CO
About who needs care: My mother is in the beginning stages of dementia, (although I don't know much she might improve if her duties were lifted from her) My father is diabetic and almost totally blind from glaucoma, and has a prosthetic leg from the knee down on his left leg. He also has sharko's in his other foot. She was his caretaker and still helps him with his glucometer and breakfast and lunch, but there are so many tasks she's not up to anymore. She can do them but she's so tired of trying to sort through the stress of it. She can't drive. He wants her to lead him when we go places but it's hard on her to mind his steps. She can navigate herself just fine if she's not in lead me mode. They just lost their home and most of their belongings in Hurricane Ian and we moved them here. I could really use some help. About the care needs: An upbeat disposition, but not over so. Just real and kind. Understanding of where they are at at this phase, still trying to be independent. Not yet. Music, art, maybe yoga. They are stubborn and she feels controlled by dad's schedule. Dad used to play guitar and was a prodigy.. the story goes that he's taught hundred to play guitar by 17 and paid for flight lessons for himself. And that he was supposed to play for the Eagles but I cam along. Mom went to a catholic high school but after was a phenomenal aerobics instructor and biked all over the state and other states. She once rode her bike up Vail Pass and fell and hamburger her leg but kept riding. She loves things like obscure art and humming bird nests and turtles and used to breed yorkies. So much more than that but it's a tiny snapshot. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and mobility assistance.
