Husband 87 needs assistance bathing/dressing/ambulation - especially stairs. Wife 84 just needs assistance in ambulation. This couple has never had a caregiver.
Husband admits he "might" need help, but wife doesn't think she does. The professionals do think they need help, both the discharge nurse and the insurance assessment nurse recommend full care, and so do their children. So caregiver must be able to keep busy AND stay out of the way at the same time. They won't know what they need or want so the caregiver needs experience to suggest how they can assist, keep busy, and give them "alone time" . Wife is definitely resisting having care at all, but then admits she can't do things she used to be able to do - like carry laundry upstairs - carry groceries to or from car. We will be putting together a "Team" of 2 caregivers to covers 7 days a week and must be willing to work at least one weekend day, either Saturday or Sunday. Starting at $18/hour. If interested in interviewing with us you must PHONE/TEXT us and leave a message so we can call you back.(not just respond thru email on this site!) We are an Agency - Home Town Home Care - Ed Richardson 847-899-5248 and Helen Tunney 847-899-5248. We will find a team to start this Friday 2/28 or very soon thereafter. If you are available, we would love to hear from you.
