About who needs care: I am vibrant 38 years old and am paralyzed from the chest down from a shallow water diving accident. I am in a wheelchair. I need a live-in to help me live my fullest life Sunday night through Wednesday night. Three days and three nights a week. responsibilities include bathing bowel care cooking cleaning organization hair taking care of the house About the care needs: I am full of life always on the go have a full-time job and a full-time life. In addition to my full-time job I spend a majority of my time working in the nonprofit world helping others who are less fortunate than I am. I am a huge believer in paying it forward giving back and kindness. I may be paralyzed from the chest down but I am EXTREMELY Active. I am looking for a caregiver who is full of life super kind patient detail oriented really Really organized and can keep up with my full-time life three days a week. I am surrounded by a wonderful husband great sister and loving mother. My mother is my rock star in life and she will help do all of the training. Family is everything to me in creating a team including my caregivers and is really important for me because having stability in my caregiving means I can spend my time helping others. I am really looking for long-term stability in my caregiver. I want you to be around for years so making sure that you a few family emergencies can show for time on work regularly have an awesome attitude and a desire to help others are just some key qualities I'm looking for in a person to be part of my team. COMMUNICATION is the key to any great relationship. Its really important that you're able to work in a team environment and be able to keep up with me -- I have a fast wheelchair too ;) Responsibilities include: Transfer from bed to wheelchair shower chair etc. (I am 150lbs and 59) Bathing & Bowel program - (Bathroom functions) Catheter care Dressing make-up hair Housekeeping Meal preparation/Food shopping Medications management Ability to drive my special purpose van with a valid driver's license Assisting in exercise program Experience with spinal cord injury is preferable but not necessary Willingness to travel Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
