Companion Care Needed For My Father - My dad, Jim, is in great p...

Full Time $18 – 25/hr Starts 10/27 Houston, TX
About who needs care: My dad, Jim, is in great physical health. Due to the recent loss of his wife of 15 years, my 2 sisters and I concerned about his declining mental state, his being alone, and his safety (household chores and driving). We would like a care giver that would provide company for him, including someone to motivate his social life, both within the church and the community, My dad enjoys eating out with friends, going to church, helping others, and "being useful" to anyone with a need. He has a precious heart and is loving to all! About the care needs: A great caregiver would be one that would befriend my dad. He is a fascinating man with great stories. He is intelligent and loves to solve problems. A fantastic caregiver would plan outings for the two of them, introduce him to new people and activities, construct his days so that he feels useful and valued. My dad is capable of self-care. He loves to "tinker" with everything around his house. A great caregiver would give him the freedom and independence to manage his home while watching out for his safety in all situations (cleaning, cooking, taking his medications, lawn mowing, etc.). Our dad is always busy. He is not one to watch TV, read any book EXCEPT the bible, and doesn't like "wasting time" on mundane tasks. A wonderful care giver would be as busy keeping my dad active as my dad was making sure the caregiver was happy. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
