Hands-on Care Needed For My Mother In Conroe

One Time $13 – 15/hr Starts 07/26 Conroe, TX
About who needs care: My mom is 96. 5 but looks and acts much younger. She is active, owns her own home , lives alone, has always been very independent. She loves to play cards with me, my sister and brother-in-law. Great personality, upbeat, and everyone loves her. She lost her balance June 28, changing clothes, fell and broke her right hip. Went to Methodist Hospital and had a partial hip replacement. Was there a week and transferred. She had great physical therapy and is being released tomorrow 7/20, after being there 2 weeks. She does great walking with her walker and can get into/out of bed and go to the restroom with her walker. She can put on her clothes and off. Might need a little help. We are thinking that she will need someone helping fix her coffee and breakfast in the morning. Then again fixing lunch as she cannot manage going into the kitchen with the walker and fixing food. She is easy to please, cereal for breakfast, sandwich for lunch. We will see that she gets a good meal for dinner. About the care needs: I did not mention that Mom is very hard of hearing. She has hearing aids but is really stone deaf without them. The caregiver will need to talk a little louder and be patient if she has to repeat something to Mom. Just looking for a sweet, caring lady to help out my mom (and us) for a few weeks. We are flexible on the hours. We think she needs to be there when Mom wakes up to help her fix her coffee and breakfast. Then watch or help with her shower and getting dressed. She puts on her own makeup everyday. The kitchen will be stocked with food, so no need for grocery store trips. She will just read the paper or be on her computer (yes she does email and Facebook and texts!) in the morning until lunch. She might take a nap in her recliner after lunch. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
