Seeking care for my mother in her 90s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, meal preparation, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, light housekeeping. Looking for someone with 3+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my mother: she can be anxious, pleasant, outgoing, independent. She is a very special and sweet lady who is finding it a bit difficult to need help these days, because she's a little older and needs assistance in the home. It's not an easy transition for her. I need someone who is very sweet, caring, and understanding of the situation. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, quiet. Ideal caregiver would be sweet, friendly when appropriate, caring, patient, and understanding of the fact that this is a new situation for my mother, having someone in the house with her all day. The caregiver would have to have a good command of the English language and speak clearly, should be warm and understanding. The caregiver should live in the area in riverdale, or close by, and it would be ideal if the caregiver had a car to drive here or a friend or relative to drive them here and pick them up. Public transportation is too dangerous because of the virus. My mother has recently had a fall and hurt her back, is now getting around in a wheelchair most of the time. Before that, she was walking with a walker. This transition and loss of independence has been very hard on her, but she always tries to make the best of the situation. The caregiver would have to be able to assist my mother in transferring in and out of the wheelchair.
