I've been playing guitar for just over seven years and I have taught lessons now for one year. My love for music started at an early age and I was involved in orchestra and varsity choir in my high school years. I am currently pursuing a degree in music from the University of North Texas. My musical influences stem from blues, rock, and country. I love teaching students because of their excitement when they're able to learn songs. It is also wonderful to see the progression that they make from lesson to lesson. I emphasize to my students how crucial it is to take the ideas taught in lessons and then work on them in their spare time. Practice is what compliments the lessons and vice versa. Furthermore, I teach students to not just memorize scales, chords, etc, but to implement them into music. Music is something that many of them can take throughout their entire life. I love knowing that I have an impact on students' lives and allow them to take a step toward unlocking their musical potential.
