  • Brooke Engen

    Instructor

    Brooke Engen Has directed and choreographed for theatre, television, music videos, live concert shows, and digital markets. Choreography credits include: Love Actually, the musical parody (Off- Bwy & Chicago Company), Mama I’m a Big Girl Now (Off-Bwy), MEG4N the unauthorized musical parody (NY and Tour), Barefoot Wine commercials, ā€œTwo Stepā€ & ā€œKentucky Dirtyā€ music videos for Laura Bell Bundy, Broadway Bares Las Vegas, Hart Of Dixie on the CW, Marvel’s Runaways on Hulu, The Prom (Axelrod Theatre), & Legally Blonde (Cabrillo Theatre & The Lex). Associate/Assistant Choreographer credits: BAZ (Las Vegas), Sleepless in Seattle (Pasadena Playhouse), Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Garry Marshall Theatre), Code Black on CBS, & Hairspray Live on NBC. She has also been on the directing and choreography teams for Cirque Holidaze, Ringling Brothers, and Norwegian Cruise Line.   • Jonathon Timpanelli

    Instructor

    Jonathon Timpanelli began his professional career, during his Freshman year of college, at Universal Orlando as a Blues Brother and in various acting roles around the park. While taking short form and long form classes at Sak Comedy Lab in Orlando, Jonathon started a Improv Troupe Studio Box that is still performing shows to this day at his Alma mater. Shortly after he graduated with his BFA in Theatre Performance, he booked the role of Bloat in Finding Nemo the musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. After a glorious year of swimming in the Big Blue World Jonathon booked the 1st National Tour of School Of Rock The Musical as the cover for the lead role of Dewey Finn. After touring for a year all over North America Jonathon finally made the move to the big apple. During the pandemic of 2020 Jonathon has written short films, done quite a few voice overs, and continues to practice his craft while enjoying an occasional slice of pizza. Ok...it’s more than occasional …and it’s more than a slice.

  • Peter Thoresen

    Instructor

    Dr. Peter Thoresen is an award-winning voice teacher, countertenor, and music director specializing in musical theater. His students appear regularly on Broadway, win Tony Awards, and sing on national tours and concert venues all over the world, and play recurring roles on hit TV shows. Currently, his students are making waves in Broadway’s Hamilton, School of Rock, Anastasia, Kinky Boots and Brigadoon, to name a few, and rocking the airwaves in the reboot of Murphy Brown, Broad City, Brooklyn 99 and the hit horror film Hereditary. Peter is an inaugural recipient of the Joan Frey-Boytim Award for Independent Teachers, a national prize awarded by the National Association of Teachers of Singing. He is also a voice professor in the musical theater department at Pace University’s School of Performing Arts in NYC. In addition to his thriving private studio, Peter Thoresen Vocal Studios, he also serves on the voice faculties of Musical Theater College Auditions (MTCA) and Broadway Kids Auditions in NYC. He holds a doctorate from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where he also served as a member of the visiting faculty. He guides artists through audition and performance preparation through a constant focus on enhancing technique and artistry, along with cultivating a love of repertoire, language, and style.

  • Sofie Zamchick

    Instructor

    Sofie Zamchick is an actor, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in NYC. She runs a private teaching studio, coaching kids ages 6-18 in voice, acting, piano, guitar, and songwriting. A voiceover artist since childhood, Zamchick's credits include: Linny in Nick Jr.'s "The Wonder Pets," Disney's "Enchanted," Kidz Bop albums 10-28, PBS's "Clifford,ā€ Fisher Price’s Linkimals toy ā€œCounting Koala,ā€ Nick Jr.'s "Abby Hatcher" soundalike, and numerous tv/radio spots for Nexplanon, Dannon, Duane Reade, Colgate, Fanta, Monster Jobs, Play-Doh, and more. She has performed in three Met Operas, the "American Girl Revue" musical at the flagship location, and has been featured in various art films by Matthew Barney and Eve Sussman. As an indie-pop singer/songwriter, Zamchick has released two EPs "So This is Goodbye" and "Until We Meet." With a voice that "flutters between sweet and salty" (Kara Manning) and "a characterizable innocence to her soundā€ (Buzz Music), Zamchick’s songs are dreamy, honest, and heartfelt. Named one of "10 NYC Artists to Watchā€ by WFUV, Zamchick played on the NPR Tiny Desk Tour in 2019, participated in the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project and Resonance Honeywell Arts Workshop, and frequently performs with her band at classic NYC venues. Zamchick is a graduate of NYU Tisch's Experimental Theatre Wing for Acting and Juilliard Pre-College for percussion. She spent 4 years as a vocal director at the Elisabeth Morrow School in NJ.

  • Tracey Moore

    Instructor

    Tracey Moore, an award-winning Director, Executive Producer, Writer, Creator, and Celebrity Acting Coach continues to redefine titles without boundaries. As Creator and EP, Tracey co-host the CRACKLE + original reality series INSIDE THE BLACK BOX with Emmy-Award Winning Actor, Joe Morton. The show is currently premiering in its second season. She also is the host of THE SPIRITED ACTOR Podcast, an iHeart Radio weekly, 30-45 minute show for aspiring and working actors. Inspired by her book, classes and workshops the show features Celebrity actors as well as known industry guests. Arriving in New York City in 1983 on a one-way ticket from San Francisco, with two hundred dollars and a trunk busting at the seams with pure desire to pursue the bright lights of Broadway as a Director. In charting her own path she birthed ā€œThe Joke’s On You!ā€, a practical joke company for hire. Casting her unemployed actor friends in customized joke scenarios she wrote and directed. Four years of success in curating mischievous pranks for the NY Elite and celebrity clients brought about a natural transition into casting. Tracey’s roaster of talented readily available actors made it a resource for directors such as Lionel Martin and Hype Williams for chart topping artist of the 90’s music scene. Tracey Moore Casting emerged as a foundational bridge between talent and production for Music Videos. A cornerstone of her continued success as a renowned Casting Director for over 30 years in television, film and commercials. Through casting Tracey has had the opportunity to take part in the career journey of many of Hollywood and Broadway A-listers such as Jamie Hector, Michael K. Williams, Kerry Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Mike Epps, Adam Rodriguez ,Jennifer Williams, Joumana Kidd, Drew Sidora, Russell Hornsby, Kellita Smith, Charlie Murphy, Victoria Rowell, Laura Izibor, NBA’s Ray Allen, NFL Thomas Jones, Vanessa Simmons, Leslie Grace, Naturi Naughton and The Breakfast Club’s DJ EnVy and Angela Yee. From her earliest casting projects at MTV; scouting for diamonds without reservation, rendered discovery of the talent of Dave Chappelle, Lisa Gay Hamilton and Donald Faison. In addition, to casting Jon Stewart’s first MTV show ā€œYou Wrote It, You Watch Itā€. Principle Casting credits in feature films include Miramax’s awarding winning, Just Another Girl on the I.R.T., New Jersey Drive and A Brothers Kiss. As Extras Casting Director for the ground breaking FOX’s New York Undercover and Spike Lee’s film ā€œGirl 6ā€. Commercial work include: Nike, Sprite, Coca-Cola, New York Times, Miller Lite, Pontiac, Taco Bell, Disney and PSA’s Under the Influence. In 1994, while casting the feature film New Jersey Drive and New York Undercover; auditioning all of the days hottest rappers, Tracey saw that these lyrical creatives required guidance in their transition from music to screen. Storytellers in their own right required translation and guidance. Her unique experience of being of both worlds, made her the perfect fit as Celebrity Acting Coach navigating them from music videos and radio into television and film. For music executives and management, she became a liaison of necessity connecting their client rooster with studios, production, and agents. Her clients have included; PĀ”nk, Cardi B, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Eve, Nelly, Q-Tip, Faith Evans, LaLa Anthony, Olivia, Chico DeBarge, Musiq Soulchild, Common, Ludacris, Mona Scott Young, Q- Tip, Darius Rucker (Hootie and the Blowfish),!Lil’ Wayne, Salt N Pepa, Kenny Latimore; BET's 106th and Park Host Free, Terrence and Rocsi, Fonsworth Bentley of BET’s Lift Every Voice, Tiny, Estelle, Kem; Universal records, Def-Jam, Kedar Entertainment, Roc-a-fella and Violator records and management. In addition to her well-established Spirited Actor classes, workshops, and private coaching sessions she desired to deliver her ā€œsprinkle dustā€ to a larger audience, ā€œThe Spirited Actor, Principles for a Successful Auditionā€ was released in 2002. This as her first book was written as a guide to empower and encourage aspiring and established actors on their journey. From paperback to in-person appearances she also lectures at colleges; Howard University, Long Island University, CW Post, Georgia State University, and Loyola Marymount University. In addition, Tracey is a returning instructor for the Broadway Star Project, a youth musical theater camp and experience-based program in the heart of New York City. Also, a reoccurring guest for WABC’s Sade Baderinwa’s program ā€œGet Reel With Your Dreamsā€ acting workshops for high school students. Tracey made her music video directorial debut with an artist named Blac Dyemond, which featured a cameo of Samuel L. Jackson. She recently shot the music video ā€œHeavenā€ for R&B singer/Broadway star Badia Farha. Tracey directed interstitials for Nickelodeon’s
Black History Month, which won her the 2004 Parent Choice Silver Award. Celebrating her twentieth year as the Director of the annual HBO / BET Screenplay Competition at the Urbanworld Film Festival in New York City; with celebrity actors that John David Washington, Omari Hardwick and Salli Richardson-Whitfield. She produced the first four film adaptations of NY Times Bestselling Author, Carl Weber; ā€œThe Man in 3Bā€, ā€œThe Preacher’s Sonā€, ā€The Choir Directorā€ and ā€œNo More Mr. Nice Guyā€.
