Hi! I am a very patient, compassionate and safety conscious. I enjoy conversations, board games, gardening, birds and reading books. A few years ago I had a health complication, and needed a walker, I was unable to get the the bathroom on my own. It was hard, but I remember a few care techs that gave me dignity, respect and care, It inspired me. I have experience in dressing, shaving, showering and bed baths. I am a home aid and make sure that good hygiene is kept and I do cleaning around the house. I spent a year working a gentleman with Lewy body dementia. I spent 7 years working at the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes. I worked with adults from the age 20 to 70s. I took clients to Dr. appointments, grocery shopping, and I was medication certified. I also volunteered to work with Alzheimer/Dementia patients at Shady Grove Rehabilitation center in Rockville. I can also help adults that are in need of extra help after surgeries. I am open to learn what ever is necessary. I own a car

She is a real-life Mary Poppins of elder care. If I could give Candice 10 stars, it wouldn't be enough. We hired Candice to care for our father-in-law who suffered from dementia and Parkinson. She is hands down one of the most caring, kind, thoughtful, and gentle people that I've ever had the pleasure to know - and my father-in-law absolutely loved her. She cared for him like he was her own father. She is also tremendously skilled. She helped him with bathing, dressing, eating, monitoring his medicine, with vocal exercises when he was struggling with speaking, with physical therapy to help with his movement. She kept a journal for us so we always knew what happened with his day. She took him for walks when he was able. She prepared the foods he liked best. And when he couldn't walk or struggled getting out of bed, she would just talk to him and listen to him. I'm getting teary-eyed thinking about how much she made the last years of his life better. She is truly an angel.
