Gertrude became a member of our family in her primary role as caregiver for my elderly parents in their home. She worked full time and more for us for about eight years, and was always loving, compassionate, and dependable. She cared deeply for my parents, and took great pains to make their lives meaningful and comfortable. She cooked healthy and delicious meals from scratch, and was always attentive to my parents' favorite food choices and health needs. As their age and dementia advanced, she became adept at cajoling them to eat, and made sure that they received the proper nutrition. Gertrude maintained a clean and safe home for my parents, and collaborated well with the other staff (my parents had twenty four hour care at their home). Gertrude decorated the house for every holiday, and celebrated my parents' birthdays and special events, as though she were taking care of her own parents. I cannot recommend Gertrude more highly.
