Hello, my name is Marie, a Marietta resident and lifelong educator.

After teaching for fifteen years in public schools and working in corporate childcare for several years, I have realized that the larger an organization becomes, the easier it is for its' original focus to get buried in the malaise of bureaucracy, regulation, and corporate interests. Hence, after 20+ successful years in education, I have decided to bring early education and childcare back to the basics, a proven practice that has stood the test of time: a family-friendly environment, a neighborhood sanctuary for children, and a stimulating place where children can learn while having fun at the same time.

My mission is to give children the foundations that instill a love of learning, appreciation of positive values, a sense of community, and at the same time, an educational experience that lays the foundations for academic success in the future.

1st Foundations Preschool & Daycare uses Horizons, a faith-based curriculum which includes Kindergarten readiness academics, arts/crafts, and a daily Bible story. Additionally, I include Spanish instruction, music and movement, outside play, field trips, social activities with other home school groups, and more.

Please check out my website at Respond to this profile and I will be happy to tell you more about 1st Foundations Preschool & Daycare. I look forward to hearing from you!

Please view the attached pictures. I am currently working on Georgia Bright from the Start certification.

Warm Regards,

Voted #1 in West Cobb by parents in the West Cobb Patch. See the early education environment that IT billionaires (Google, Amazon, Wikipedia, TheSIMS, etc..) agree contributed to their later success. With over 5000 programs around the world, our internationally accredited, developmentally based and individually focused approach is the choice of Presidents and Princes for their children. We invite you to visit all other area preschool environments and then tour our school and see something truly amazing in education.

Our preschool teachers receive a curriculum specific, AMI master's level training in education and child development. This provides the skills to teach all subjects through 3rd Grade of conventional education at schools internationally. Their training provides a variety of options that allows them to adapt to each individual child's learning style and abilities. Our classrooms are stocked with hundreds of scientifically designed manipulative materials imported from around the world that teach advanced math, science, language and fine arts. Students are given individualized lessons in a warm, home-like, art-filled environment where they enjoy music, gardening, baking and more. These academic and artistic pursuits are only part of our curriculum as students will also receive specific instruction in the social and professional skills necessary for future success. These skills are important components of an independent and self-assured child.

Many schools have a constantly changing curriculum that may vary from subject to subject, teacher to teacher as they try each new fad in education. Our curriculum is the same in classrooms throughout the world and continues to provide reliable academic success in standardized tests and comparative models. It is a twelve year arc that follows students through middle school. This developmentally based continuity allows our students to rapidly and seamlessly move forward academically. Our graduating middle school students regularly test at a college level in all subject areas. Our students who move into other education environments arrive with academic ability and skill sets that allow them to function independently and easily adapt. These skills are what our adult graduates attribute to their phenomenal professional success.

Discover something amazing in education that inspires the innovators of our day. Do not settle for less than an AMI Montessori education for your child
