About who needs care: Atypical Parkinsonism -quiet, quick speech; freezing, very slow gait; difficulty getting out of chair; needsmonitoring while walking and moving to prevent falls; uses tri -wheel walker and motorized scooter; wears pad for leakage. Want someone to monitor/cheer lead me with my PD physical chair exercises that keep me strong and stretched, as well as, speech exercises (Both sets of exercises are online and written out.).
My hobbies are reading (especially history) and creative writing. My interests have been wood working, mechanics, sailing, law.
Structuring my time with caregiver would be monitoring my exercise and speech, fix lunch, perhaps going for a walk in the park or helping organize paperwork, companionship when wife goes out.
About the care needs: Personality: Good listener, positive personality, patient, sense of humor. Skills: Strong enough to help me stand from a chair, willing to help me urinate into a portable urinal after standing from a chair because I walk so slowly that getting to a toilet quickly enough to avoid filling my pad does not work.
