Had a great experience with PCLA!!! The staff was always friendly and our daughter loved going there and see her teachers every morning. Was always happy when we dropped her off and picked her up.

My child was at PCLA for a little over a year from the time he was 3 months old to almost 16 months old. In the first few months of attending I had to report them to the state twice for not meeting the mandated staff to child ratio in the infant room. I wish I had pulled my son out after those incidents but when I spoke to the director and owner they assured me the problem would be fixed.

Last week, I had to call the state again. I discovered that his sippy cup was absolutely filthy and smelled very strongly of mildew and mold. The next morning I spoke with the director about the situation and was told by her that the facility sends the sippy cups home every Friday to be cleaned. I have never had anything sent home from PCLA to be cleaned. Another staff member said that they sent the cups everyday to the kitchen to be cleaned. I insisted on seeing my sons other sippy cup that was still in his classroom. It was even more disgusting. As you can imagine, his bottle was even worse and had to be thrown away.

The director was very apologetic about the situation and admitted fault. She also admitted that several of the other infant and toddlers sippy cups had the same issue. On the other hand, the owner was completely unprofessional, rude, and abrasive. She claimed that because the daycare replaced the sippy cups everything should of been righted. She did not understand the severity of the situation or the neglect to the health and safety of my child. I was completely floored at her lack of professionalism.

In the end, we had to leave the daycare due to the sippy cup situation and the owners actions. It is difficult to trust a facility to care for your child when you cannot trust them to clean your child's cup. I hate to think of what else was slipping through the cracks. On our last day the staff in my sons room weren't even aware there was a problem with the sippy cups and claimed they weren't allowed to clean the cups.

To be fair, PCLA does have a lot of positives. Their pricing is very reasonable, most of their longtime employees are fantastic, and everyone is very friendly. Some of the downsides are that they had constant employee turnover so it was rarely the same person caring for your child, they were often understaffed and let the older students buzz people into the daycare so the security was questionable. The communication between the caregivers changing shifts was poor, as well as the communication to the parents. Obviously the communication between management and their staff was poor and inconsistent.
