Heike's Family Childcare Home

I am a mother of four who has been a family childcare provider for 26 years and been able to achieve a five stare rating for a fourth time. My BA is in Family Services and Early Care.
My goal is that parents are able to pursue their work andinterests with a peace of mind that their children spend their day in a loving, nurturing and safe environment. With developmentally appropriate practices children are able to thrive cognitively, creatively and socially through play and teacher directed activities. <br/>All these years of experience have taught me that once in school children will spend their day in a very structured environment, so my emphasis during their preschool years is on play. There is so much they can learn through simple play if properly facilitated. Their imagination can be amazing, it is beautiful to watch. The academic learning/ teaching is through a mixture of creative curriculum (children's interest guides the activity plan), old fashioned activities and Montessori ideas.
