About the business
Our dedicated caregivers, the special people we call Comfort Keepers , transform day-to-day caregiving into opportunities for meaningful conversation and activities that engage and enrich the lives of seniors physically, mentally, socially and emotionally.
This practice of Interactive Caregiving can contribute to longer, healthier, more purposeful lives for seniors--a fact proven by many research studies that point to the health benefits of active living in later life. Comfort Keepers tailor Interactive Caregiving to the personality and unique interests and abilities of each senior client. Interactive Caregiving may, for example, include walks in the neighborhood or dancing to music; working together on household chores; discussing current events or personal interests; reminiscing while viewing photo albums; working on hobbies, puzzles or crafts; and going shopping or to church, senior center or civic group activities.
We are a Home Health Agency licensed by Florida AHCA License HH-299992888. As such we are required to use employees (no contractors) to provided care. Our employees are trained, insured (General Liability and Workman's Compensation) and bonded for theft.
Training includes CPR/First Aide for safety, Alzheimer's Care (level 1) by an Alzheimer's Association, Hospice Care by a hospice organization and a series of video courses that emphases "How to Work and Communicate" with seniors in various scenarios. Examples include communicating with people that are hard of hearing, with dementia or aphasia and working with people requiring bed rest or wheelchairs. Much training focuses on Alzheimer's care.
Our services include light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, laundry, support for doctor's visits, incidental transportation, medication reminders, and for those with more demanding needs we offer personal care including bathing, dressing, transferring and incontinence care. The difference is our quality assurance programs, Care coordinators manage homes to insure the work is completed as planned, the client likes their care staff (replacements made upon request), money transactions are documented and should a problem arise the caregiver has a person to contact for support. Service time is tracked via a telephone based system that alerts the Care Coordinator of a caregiver late arrival or early quit. This enables us to guarantee that service will be provided within a 2 hour window should a caregiver not show at all.
We provide service from 3 hours (minimum) to 24 hours/day with a minimum of 1 visit per week. We can tailor service to meet specific needs. Some clients utilize multiple visits per day so they can have private time mid-day.
Are we a quality service? AHCA 2013 license audit .... No deficiencies see: http://www.fdhc.state.fl.us Citrus County Chronicle readers poll "Best of the Best" for Homecare 2012 & 2013.
