Building Blocks Preschool

Building Blocks Preschool is a unique preschool learning environment (located in Highland MI) where children are immersed in a discovery based, Reggio Emilia influenced curriculum. Our education philosophy is centered on empowering children; encouraging them to develop their social, cognitive, emotional, and physical selves through exploration and play. Our goal at Building Blocks Preschool is to help each child develop lifelong joy in learning, belief in themselves, self-responsibility, drive to follow their passions, and desire to contribute to their community.

Children are born naturalists. They explore the world with all of their senses, experiment in the environment, and communicate their discoveries to those around them.
When you see a child playing in nature you realize just how little they actually need.

Being outdoors has huge benefits for children, both physically and mentally, and the growing phenomenon of Forest School Approach that we follow at Curio City Childcare aims to tap into those benefits by educating children in the fresh air. The outdoors environment is the perfect setting to develop resilient, confident, independent, creative learners whilst also improving their health and well-being.
Children are encouraged to take control of their own learning. They are encouraged to think critically, risk assess themselves and try to solve problems independently. We are so proud of our team who help them do exactly that.
