For 12 years I have worked with people with special needs and people who need assistance especially those who are in their elderly age. I have three years experience with a gentleman who had dementia I am CPR and first aid trained and certified.

I had a job as an in home caregiver for an elderly couple for 2 years. During holidays and other special occasions, we would keep their son who has down syndrome. He's a very sweet and loving man! Even though he wasn't verbal, I enjoyed spending time with him.

I have had many years of experience with my nursing skills. I have done in home private duty care for the elderly off and on since 1987. My experience mainly is with dementia patients and diabetic patients who have had amputations. I also have experience with patients who have visual impairments , mostly from diabetes.

I do not have much experience with special needs. I have always worked with elderly ones in their home environment. I am eager to help ones and learn. I would be the right candidate for the job for a family that is willing to give me a chance and the patience to teach me.
