Registered Nurse Who Loves Caring For People But Doesn T Like All The Bureaucracy Of A Hospital.

Responds within 6 hours
Several years caring for seniors and disabled in a skilled nursing unit. RN on stroke unit and CV unit as well. Skills include wound care, diabetes care, elderly care, Alzheimer's care, med administration, infectious disease, mobility assist, catheter/trach/IV care, cardio/stroke patients, Healthcare CPR certified. I am a people person through and through and nothing makes me happier than knowing I've made someone's day a little brighter. Valedictorian of my nursing class. I grew up on a farm and am not afraid of hard work or getting my hands dirty. I'm just tired of hospital work as I don t agree that charting is more important than actual patient care. I am looking to provide private care for all types of patients and am especially fond of caring for the elderly. The golden rule is key. How would I want someone treating my mom? I know how stressful a caregiver's day is. That one question that gives me strength and puts everything in perspective once again.

Lori - WOW! Lori, with her can-do spirit, joined our family about two years ago and the experience couldn't have been better. She came to us at a time when both my mother's Alzheimer's and my father's ALS were rapidly progressing. For my mother, Lori was a kind and compassionate companion. She was able to keep her calm and engaged at times in conversion, in other instances listening to music, doing puzzles, or even out and about on craft supply runs. For my father, Lori was a buddy and a good friend - swapping stories, cracking jokes and, always up for an adventure - of which there were many! As his mobility diminished, Lori, in spite of her bird-like frame, proved herself to be a highly able-bodied individual. She deftly moved my father - who was a larger man of 6ft - from wheelchair to pool, toilets, recliners, and to bed with great care. I am filled with gratitude that she came into our lives and helped make our folk's last bit of time on this planet a joyous experience.

Live-In Home Health Aide Available Full-Time

I have been providing in-home caregiver services since 2002. I have cared for elderly people with moderate to severe medical conditions such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's disease, ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), diabetes, heart conditions, dementia, patients recovering after surgery and under hospice care. My medical background and excellent command of spoken and written English give me confidence in handling the demands and challenges of in-home care. Years of experience allow me to adapt quickly to specifics of a new case and to help the client and family members to work out a desired care plan that would encompass recommendations of medical professionals and the client's personal preferences. In addition to providing assistance with activities of daily living, serving as client's home care advocate is a very important aspect of my job as a caregiver something that I take pride in.

Asta was my mother's primary caregiver for the last four years of her life. She is very organized and helped greatly with coordinating my mother's household and care needs between herself and two weekend caregivers. She is a great communicator and kept all medications organized, accompanied my mother to medical visits and developed logs for all of my mother's health care needs. She cooked nutritious meals following the dietician's guidelines, kept the house clean and sanitary and made sure that my mother, who had limited mobility, walked every day. She was very flexible, adapting to my mother's ever increasing care needs as her dementia progressed, and made sure that the other caregivers were always briefed on new developments. She is meticulous and is very concerned to provide the utmost in care.

Helping Hands Caregiver

Responds within a few days
I am looking for Full Time work . My story is about a 67-year-old man who only needed a housekeeper twice a week. His illness progressed with time he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and dementia, due to his illness he now needed help full time. Although care giving isn't for everybody I gave it a try . The first thing I did was educate myself about Parkinson's disease , the medicine and side affects . Working for him on a daily basis learning more about Parkinson helped me to prepare for what was to come and how to help him now. He became like a family member to me and my kids(now are adults). I took him doctors appointments I had the pleasure to help him for six years. His wishes were to stay out of nursing homes and hire enough people to keep him at home to end. I'm caring , honest , respectful , hardworking and I will always respect you. I look forward to meeting you!

It was a delight to have Marissa care for our mother throughout her employment with our family. She was sociable and compassionate towards our mother. Marissa is very creative by thinking of various ideas to keep our mother engaged and active at her level of ability throughout the day. Marissa was able to maintain proper documentation on administering meds as well as provide regular updates on our mother's day to day activities. Marissa was very responsive and willing to go above and beyond to provide the best quality of life to our mother.
