Hi! My name is Kristin. I am 36 years old. I have been taking care of my grandparents for over 6 years. I helped my grandpa rehab from a broken hip and pneumonia. My grandmother is disabled and has been for over 30 years. My grandpa was her primary care giver. When he wasn't able to help her due to his injury, I stepped in. I've been helping them ever since. I have helped them with grocery shopping. dr appointments, dining out, regular clothes shopping, light housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, fill and administer medications, bathing and grooming, help paying the bills, and anything else they need. My grandpa was diagnosed with Dementia and Parkinson's two years ago. It is a very terrible disease and it's complications took his life in April:( It was devastating to watch but I learned a lot of ways to help others by experiencing it with him. In the beginning I was a caregiver. I took care of an elderly patient for 2 years that was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Then I got my CNA certificate so I can work at nursing homes and I was assigned at the long term division. Then I went to nail school to become a nail technician.
