Seeking care for my mother in her 60s. Services needed: companionship, medication prompting. Looking for someone with 3+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: support for memory care. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my mother: she can be anxious, pleasant, grouchy. My mom was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's in March, 2018. She made the conscious decision to stop driving before then because she felt things were getting worse. Due to insurance reasons and to ensure she'd be taken care of to the best of our abilities. we needed her to move her closer to us. Her husband passed away in late November 2018, her world has been turned upside down with losing essentially everything within 8 months. She's lost her independence, her dogs, her husband and her home. She is mostly independent:able to shower, do light chores and complete some cooking tasks. However she needs consistent reminders for medications. She will begin the task, and then set the pills down somewhere and then not take them. This is her biggest challenge. I'd also like to have someone be there for her as a companion. Thank you! I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, fond of pets, outdoorsy. Needs to be very patient, speaking slow and clearly. My mom loves animals, walking, dining, drinking coffee, listening to music, movies, and enjoys conversating. Mom can be stubborn. She is also quite forgetful especially when attempting to complete tasks. She gets lost in the sequencing which confuses her then makes her frustrated.
