I come from a close-knit homeschooling family. I am the second oldest of eight children. My family adopted two of my sisters at ages 4 and 14. Thus, I have experience, not only with normal, very active children, but also older adopted children and their needs. My younger adopted sister is special needs (emotional trauma, sexual abuse, & FAE (Fetal Alcohol Effects). I have learned a lot about how these children think and how to reach them. I would love to nanny or tutor a special needs child, because often they have gone through so much that they think they are stupid and inferior. They need to know that they are loved, and that they do have unique skills and gifts.
I have nannied for multiple families, with children ranging from 6 months old up to teenagers. I have experience with various temperaments, and caring for up to five children at once.
I greatly enjoy taking care of children, and I have been told that I will make a great mother someday.
Personal hobbies & interests include: Foreign languages, traveling, hiking, community service, swimming, swing dancing, singing, theatre, classical music, speaking Russian, meeting new people, and spending time with family & friends.
