I have over eight years of experience in education, and in this time, I have held positions as a tutor, teacher, and school psychologist and guidance counselor. I have a master's degree in school psychology from Tufts University, and hold Massachusetts' certifications in school psychology, guidance counseling and early childhood education.
My teaching experience has primarily been with students struggling with language-based learning disabilities, writing difficulties, and ADHD. As a guidance counselor and school psychologist, I have worked with students to increase their understanding of their own personal strengths and weaknesses to help them to achieve optimal success in the classroom. I have also provided consultation and guidance on the private school application process and expectations. I feel that my teaching, school psychology, and guidance experiences have provided me with a strong understanding of teacher expectations and a unique appreciation of individual student needs. Whether your child is struggling in school or is looking to improve on a specific skill, understanding their unique learning style is an important element in achieving academic success. In my experience, working to improve study skills and organization often helps children to become better students and to better enjoy their time in school. I can provide students with the strategies they need to improve academic goal setting, homework completion and study skills based on demonstrated need. I can support students with pre-existing assignments, homework, etc., in addition to unique and personalized support. I provide tutoring services in the areas such as reading comprehension, writing skills, homework help, organizational skills, time management, college and private school essays and applications.
