Seeking care for my mother in her 80s. Services needed: companionship, meal preparation, mobility assistance, transportation, light housekeeping. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training, support for chronic illness, nursing experience. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my mother: she can be pleasant, outgoing. Mom is low energy due to health issues with her heart. She uses a walker around the house. When we go to doctor appointment we use a transporter wheelchair. She stays up with current affairs and manages her business but physically she isn't strong. Her blood pressure is typically low so I do all her meal prep. She can bath and dress herself but she sometimes has to rest for a bit afterwards. I'm looking for someone who is patient, strong, fond of pets. Mom walks slow and she can get distracted easily so patience is important. I put strong only because she needs someone to hold onto and to lift her walker or transporter wheelchair. She has two cats who are usually very curious about visitors so it's important not to mind cats. An ideal person won't mind conversation or just to watch TV with her. She likes Dr Phil and watches the news. Mom is independent in her mind but not her body. Her mind is still very sharp but her body isn't. She has regular doctor visits every 60-90 days unless she's having an issue. She has agina that she wears a nitro patch to control and she has a pacemaker. She also has diverticulosis. We have struggled to get her diet right to avoid infection. She is good at taking her medicine. I'm returning to work and I need someone that can be with her to make sure she gets fed and has someone here in case she is feeling bad. Sometimes she just needs you to sit with her until she feels better. Her blood pressure is usually low in the morning. She is not an early riser. And she usually takes about an hour nap in the afternoon. She lives in the mother-in-law apartment that is attached to our house.
