Loving, Experienced Caregiver
Avg response < 9 hrs
Graduating valedictorian of my high school class, I became a certified Paraeducator, working as a Personal Care Assistant to a young man having Autism. I was a Home Health Aide for two individuals with Cerebral Palsy and I spent my summers working at a center for children with disabilities. Marriage took me to a new state where I began nannying for multiple families. Two of these positions allowed me experience with twins while another became a position in which I would train Au Pairs for the family. After starting my own family, I began giving piano lessons to beginners of all ages as well as tutoring children struggling with reading and math. I have taken a few college classes, although I have not yet earned a degree. I am formerly trained in first aide, AED and CPR, with intentions to become recertified soon. As a homeschooling mom of four, a child in my care will become a part of the family, receiving love, education and fun alongside my children. I look forward to meeting!

I have helped middle and high school students with homework as well an providing different types of study skills. I know that school is harder for some students, so I am extremely patient. I will take the time to help them study to the best of my ability, and make sure they understand all of the material that they need to know. As a bonus for high school students, I edit and critique essays.

Caring, Energetic Private Tutor
Avg response < 9 hrs
I was a personal care assistant for two years after graduating high school. During this time, I worked closely with a young man with special needs, on a daily basis, teaching him the lessons his teacher had planned. This included learning his ABC's, 123's, and learning to speak. It also included learning daily behaviors such as toileting, grooming, feeding, etc. Since resigning my position as a personal care assistant, I have been a babysitter for a first grader. I have worked with her in the evenings on her homework assignments, and have often gone above and beyond, working with her at home on her reading and math skills. I have taught some sign language to a youth from a church I used to attend. I am skilled in many areas and would be willing to give private lessons for a myriad of things. Whether you just need some extra practice in an area of learning (math, reading, etc.) or if you are a beginner who needs lessons (piano, sign language, etc.), I know how to make learning fun and productive. I graduated valedictorian of my senior class so I am fluent in typical elementary, middle, and high school subjects and have played the piano since I was six, accompanying frequently for my school choir. I have been giving piano lessons from my home for the past year and spend time each day homeschooling my 2-year-old (shapes, colors, letters, numbers, etc.) I am currently working toward obtaining my degree in Early Childhood Education. I was a personal care assistant for two years and have experience teaching individuals with special needs. Bringing my daughter (2) and 6-month-old with me is a must at this time as my husband is often away or working and unable to care for them while I work. This should not be a problem as I have brought my children to many babysitting jobs with me and have them in my home during the piano lessons I give with no additional care-giving help. I look forward to finding my new client soon.

I was an elementary school teacher in Virginia for the past 7 years before my husband was recently transferred to Keyport due to the military. I love teaching math and tutored 3rd - 5th graders in reading and math two days a week after school. I am always trying to find ways to make learning more fun and feel that tutoring is a great way to find the child's interest and use it to better help them in their academics.

I am currently going to school working towards a Bachelors degree and my license to teach Kindergarten-8th grade. I am also working in a preschool as an assistant teacher. I apply with Early Learning Guidelines when caring for children. I am looking for a tutoring position for children in Preschool-6th grade. While teaching kids, I enjoy finding educational games and activities to make learning fun. Math and reading are my favorite subjects. However, I have experience teaching science, writing and art as well.

I have two to three years experience as a caretaker for children ages 1-15. My duties include cleaning messes from toys and food, to babies' diapers and vomit, none of which I have ever had a problem with. Cooking and baking are strong suits of mine. I am good with homework, problem solving in science, math, history and language arts. Maybe your child needs help on an art project? I can do that also. I have never been fired from a care taking Job. From toddlers to big kids, preteens and teenagers, they generally get along with me/relate well with no problem. Even if they have under developed social skills ranging from shy children to does not do well with others. One of the 12-year-old girls I watched needed special education and was one of the main kids I looked after for over seven months. I spent everyday with her worked with her on school and exercise. She and her siblings were a great joy to be around everyday. I am musically inclined, I love drawing and my 5 year plan from today is to work hard for my education to benefit myself an amazing future. I plan to go into the military branch to provide a better future for my future family and for the future of The American people. Right now, I am studying at South Seattle College for a degree in aviation. I come from a Huge line of family so kids of any age are always a joy.

I have lots of little cousins and have babysat them lots of times. I'm very good with children and I love them too. I know once I get married I will want them right away. My experience babysitting is limited to 3-year-old to 13-year-olds but I have taken care of babies before too. I was CPR certified but haven't retaken the class.
