When I was in school I helped tutor students in math, reading, and spelling. The children were middle school age.

As I work toward becoming a math teacher in Washington, I want to continue to hone my educational skills by working with students that need support. During my four years as an undergraduate at Butler University, I worked with multiple high-school students for 2 to 3 years each. When I started with them, they were disinterested and struggling with the material. By sharing my passion for the subject, as well as working through the concepts in a style that emphasizes understanding why and how something works, as opposed to rote memorization, I helped them all to engage and eventually gain the confidence to face collegiate level math. One even went on to minor in mathematics, despite coming to me for the first time feeling like he was wasting his time in math class. Whether you or your student are struggling or just looking for a head-start on future topics, I will work alongside classwork to ensure development of a deep understanding and a solid foundation to continually apply.

I was employed as a tutor teaching basic middle school level math and English for about 3 months and improved the students grades from D's to A's just within that time frame.

Hi! I am a reliable and trustworthy teacher and nanny who relates and connects well with kids of all ages. I am just moving back to the Seattle area after living in Hawaii for 3 years. I have been teaching middle school math for those 3 years, while also nannying for families visiting the island. Previous to that, I was a full-time nanny for an amazing family while also working as an "on-call" nanny on the weekends. I have nanny experience with ages newborn-middle school, and have teaching and tutoring experience in reading, science, and math at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. I am an honors student with a 4. 0 GPA in high school and am currently going into my freshman year of college as a senior in high school. As a junior I reached all graduation requirements and decided do a program so I can earn college credits. I've tutored in math, English, science and history at my high school for the past three years as volunteer work. I am extremely patient and have the ability to adapt to different learning styles that help the children learn.

I am a Ph. D. candidate in Environmental Science. In the meantime, I do part-time babysitting and tutoring. I am responsible, organized, and innovative person. I can handle multiple tasks at once. I have experience caring for babies and children. Being the oldest from 3 children, and with a numerous extended family, I have always taken care of siblings and cousins. I am excellent with children, very friendly, and kind yet firm when necessary. I am fluent in both English and Spanish. My background in science and math allow me to teach children different topics and help them with homework, as well as to trigger their curiosity in science.

I am a middle school math teacher who has taught from 5th grade through Algebra 1 for 15 years. Looking to tutor students who need a little extra help from someone who doesn't mind showing multiple methods that best suit the needs of the student. I like to focus on conceptual understanding rather than memorizing steps; but will also show the steps necessary for efficiency sake.

I have a wide variety of experience tutoring and working with students in many capacities. I currently work as a para in a 5th grade classroom, and often teach students in groups and one-on-one in subjects they are struggling with (especially math and writing). In addition to working, I'm also getting my degree right now to become a math teacher! I'm comfortable adapting to individual learning styles and meeting students where they're at - not everyone learns the same way! My previous experience includes working for three years with students at a before and after school care program. There I got to learn how to help kids with their homework in a setting outside of school, where focusing can be difficult. I've done other work with kids - such as being on leadership at a summer camp and teaching both middle and high school youth groups. So whatever age student you have, I will happily be able to teach them!
