Part Time
Help needed for my mother in her 70s with late-stage Alzheimer's. For a laid-back, compassionate person, this could be an easy way to pick up a few hours a week. Hours probably flexible, as long as it's after noon.
Watch TV, "talk" to Mom (she can no longer speak coherently, but loves to have someone listen, nod, and smile.) Try to have her let you cut her nails, give her a sponge bath, change her shirt, etc. Make a simple lunch, grilled ham and cheese, hot dogs, etc. She can eat by herself but likes to have someone sit with her.
She has COPD so preference for a caregiver who is a non-smoker.
My dad will usually be home, but he has been her sole caretaker for 10 years, so we are looking for someone he can trust so he can sometimes get out to the store for a couple of hours, or just have someone else around.
