I had the amazing opportunity to care for my mother when her back had been broken and crushed. She came to live with my children and I, so she could get all the medical and personal care she needed and deserved. I cared for her by changing and cleaning her 12-inch incision. I managed her medications, doctor's appointments, ordering and picking up any medical supplies such as her walker to help in regaining how to walk again. I am experienced in personal hygiene care. I am a Certified PCA and HHA. I've assisted my mother in her recovery after 3 separate car accidents, which included care in the recovery of walking, bathing, meal prep, medications, rehabilitation an companionship.
I'm a certified HHA who has had the opportunity to care for cancer patients stage 1 through stage 4. I've been blessed to have the opportunity to spend time doing the little things such as arts and crafts, reading with them, watching there favorite movies, baking, and making them as comfortable as possible. My mother also had lung cancer few years ago, which I cared and nursed her back to health. She was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in February, during this time, I over seen her care. I had the opportunity to see first hand how a nursing home facility can be a cold and lonely place, where she was for her rehabilitation. I took my mother out and placed her at a small home care, where I was still able to help care for her and spend as much time with her as I could. She passed away in May. I enjoy caring for others, as it brings me pleasure in knowing I can help make someone else's life a little easier.
