Unlocking Creativity Through Core Art Foundations Our Elementary Art Education Program is designed to foster creativity and build essential skills through a sequential and cyclical curriculum. By progressively exploring the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design, students not only learn art techniques but also develop a deep appreciation for art history. Here's what our young artists will explore: Foundational Concepts: Dive into the Elements of Art and Principles of Design to create visually compelling pieces. Drawing Skills: From observational and perspective drawing to life and figure sketches, students refine their ability to represent the world around them. Students will explore a diverse range of dry media, including graphite, oil pastels, chalk pastels, charcoal, and ink. Composition and Color: Learn the intricate concepts of 2D composition and color theory to enhance artistic expression. Painting Techniques: Experiment with various media such as acrylics, watercolors, gouache, learning manipulation techniques that bring ideas to life. Art History: Travel through time exploring influential artists, both historical and contemporary, to understand their impact on the art world and society. Authentic Assessment: Engage in assessments that reflect real-world art critique, helping students evaluate and elevate their art. Personal Expression: Encourage self-expressive processes that allow students to communicate personal meaning and narratives through their artworks. Explore the world of making your own clay creations! This class will teach you how to create several hand-built clay pieces. Students will be introduced to Kiln firing, and procedures, as well as stages of clay: Wet, Greenware, Bisqueware, and more. Each student will custom glaze each project, and have all pieces fired in our kiln. Many projects are “built upon” each class, so that students experience a variety of mediums and take home several projects. Projects are new every session, so sign-up for all sessions OR our school program for discounted rate.

This combination class offers children a sampling of art projects using various media such as painting, clay, watercolors, collage, and pastels. It is amazing what you can create when you explore with your imagination. A variety of materials are used to create your many masterpieces – Many projects are “built upon” each class, so that students experience a variety of mediums and take home several projects. Projects are new every session & seasonal, so sign-up for all sessions.

During this week campers get to enjoy a different ceramic and slime daily. Although there are options to take part in painting on canvas instead. ​ We know going home we so many slimes and ceramics can be overwhelming - so we have you covered. From fluffy slime to glow in the dark and snow slime - we will keep the campers day filled with exciting activities!

Dive into a magical week of sea life! From seashells and sandcastles to mermaids and starfish, campers will explore all the wonders of the ocean through hands-on creativity and imagination. This week, your child will bring home starfish sculptures, canvas paintings, and beautiful ocean-inspired illustrations—plus a few surprise seashell treasures we can’t wait to share! As summer draws to a close, we're giving campers the freedom to choose their creative adventures for the final days of camp. Each day, we'll offer a selection of activities ranging from canvas painting and ceramics to slime making and collage crafting. Campers can decide how they want to spend their day, exploring different mediums and expressing their unique artistic styles. It's a wonderful opportunity for them to dive into what they love most and end their summer with a burst of creativity and personal expression. Join us for these last few days of fun-filled, self-directed creativity!​

Spend your vacation getting creative! Come on over to Studio on the Common for some nonstop, art-filled fun! We'll have a new project each day, so you can sign up for just one day or the whole week (but we don't recommend signing up for the morning and the afternoon on the same day as the projects do repeat). With a creative mix of drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media projects it's sure to be a blast!

Enter a world of imagination at our Fairy Frolic Creation Camp, where students spend the week crafting their very own magical fairy house along with a variety of enchanting fairy-themed art projects. From tiny furniture and woodland décor to whimsical paintings and sparkling accessories, each day offers a new creative adventure inspired by the fairy realm. We encourage campers to join us for the full week so they can fully build and customize their fairy house, but single-day attendance is welcome they just may not complete a full house. Every day includes a complete project that students can finish in class and bring home with pride. Our most popular summer program returns for Summer 2026: Art Lab! Does your child love to engage in the process of art making and experiment with new things? If so, Art Lab! is the week for them. This week will be chock full of exploration of art materials and may include things like making fizz art using baking soda, salt resist painting, kaleidoscope making, paper marbling with shaving cream and more! It's sure to delight the adventurous artist!

Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and just plain fun! Much like our teen school year classes, we will offer the flexibility of having planned projects for those who don't necessarily have a clear idea of what to create, as well as more of an open studio for those who are ready to dive into all those projects in their heads (with the guidance of our teachers). We offer everything from drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking to sculpture. Please note that due to time constraints, we do not offer ceramics in this program during summer camps (please check out our Rebel Ceramics program if interested in working with ceramics). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio at 1444 South Main st., and Tuesdays/Thursdays we meet at local parks. This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

Let the wonder and beauty of the animal kingdom inspire your empathy, curiosity, and creativity. Learn about lions, elephants, sharks and more, and find out how wildlife conservationists are working to protect species around the globe. Experiment with a variety of art techniques using Crayola® products to create animal-inspired art projects, from frog paintings to polar bear sculptures! Let your creativity run wild and bring your handiwork home to build a menagerie of animal-themed masterpieces. Our young artists will receive Crayola products to take home, and wildlife trading cards that contain fun facts about the featured animal and a biography of a real conservationist working with these animals.
