You don't have to be a pro to create beautiful art! All it takes is some practice, patience, and inspiration to create something magnificent. For my age 10+ KVArteests, we work in oil paints on projects each artist chooses with my input. This is a class for those with enough art experience or can-do attitude to work largely independently.

This year, in "Art In Nature", we will study 8 artists who are famous for their depictions of nature. Our fine art projects will include drawing in graphite and colored pencil; painting in acrylic and watercolor; sculpting in foam clay; blending with oil pastels; scratch board; as well as mixed and multi-media work. PreK, Kinder, & 1st grade Art Program Overview Unlocking Creativity Through Core Art Foundations Our Pre-K, Kinder, & 1st grade Art Program is designed to foster creativity and build essential skills through a sequential and cyclical curriculum. By progressively exploring the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design, students not only learn art techniques but also develop a deep appreciation for art history. Bathroom Independence: Children must be fully independent in using the bathroom to attend classes without adult supervision. If a child requires assistance in the bathroom, a parent or guardian must be present during the class.

Spend your vacation getting creative! Come on over to Studio on the Common for some nonstop, art-filled fun! We'll have a new project each day, so you can sign up for just one day or the whole week (but we don't recommend signing up for the morning and the afternoon on the same day as the projects do repeat). With a creative mix of drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media projects it's sure to be a blast!

Through hands-on lessons, students will learn how to navigate the interface, use brushes and tools, and apply digital techniques to create original artworks. The course is designed to build a strong foundation for students interested in developing their digital art practice and a small class size means kids will get plenty of personalized instruction and one-on-one support. ​Furry friends make the best friends! This week we will be working in pencil, acrylics, ink, watercolor and clay! Join us as we make our way through the zoo and learn how to draw painting and sculpt some of our favorite animals.

This Middle School Class is perfect for an after school Art Experience. We will complete roughly 1 project each day- :) Includes all sitting fees, materials and glaze/ studio fees. Yes- You can bring a snack to class & eat before we begin.

Winter Semester (January-Mid March) In this class teens will learn different painting techniques and work on improving their skills while learning a little about art history. Students will do different subjects like still life, landscapes and animals to improve on their painting skills. Students are encouraged to develop their own style and ideas while exploring different mediums, styles, and artists. Students will be given practice to do at home during the week to help develop and build their skills. Classes are limited in size, so sign up your teen today!

This is going to be a fun week filled with everyone's favorites. From working with clay to mixing slime and painting ceramic pieces. We make sure that every session is filled with creativity and giggles. PLEASE EMAIL REGISTRATION FORM & MEDICAL PRIOR TO THE START OF CAMP.

Get ready to draw, glue, and yarn-ify your art! This week, kids will explore two exciting art traditions from Mexico: Huichol yarn painting and Talavera tile design. Huichol artists create textured pictures using bright yarn, while Talavera tiles are known for bold colors, repeating patterns, and mirror-image designs. You’ll combine these ideas to design your own Yarn Painting Talavera, using symbols, colors, and patterns that show who you are—animals, sports, nature, family traditions, and more. You’ll also learn to weave on a wooden loom, creating colorful textile pieces while practicing over-under patterns and adding fun details like beads, pom-poms, and yarn textures. This hands-on, project-based week is full of color, creativity, and self-expression. You’ll head home with unique artwork that’s truly one of a kind—just like you!

The Giggling Pig is a place where everyone is welcome to join in the fun and be themselves! So in celebration of MLK and our mission to inspire unique expression we’re painting these colorful "Hands of Hope". Students will practice their blending techniques as they depict the colors of the rainbow. Then, after they've learned all about ROYGBIV, they’ll experiment with mixing all those colors together to get an array of skin tones. While exploring color, we see that though there is a whole spectrum of different outcomes, they all contain parts of the same rainbow.

Rebel Art Summer Camps are full of exploration, creative excitement, and just plain fun! Much like our teen school year classes, we will offer the flexibility of having planned projects for those who don't necessarily have a clear idea of what to create, as well as more of an open studio for those who are ready to dive into all those projects in their heads (with the guidance of our teachers). We offer everything from drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, printmaking to sculpture. Please note that due to time constraints, we do not offer ceramics in this program during summer camps (please check out our Rebel Ceramics program if interested in working with ceramics). We break up the week by hosting camp in different locations. Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays are hosted at the studio at 1444 South Main st., and Tuesdays/Thursdays we meet at local parks. This unique opportunity is only offered during summer camps and is incredibly special as it allows campers to experience working in plein air (from life outside) as well as in the studio for a complete art experience. Please note that we keep a close watch on the weather and air quality and will relocate to the studio if it will be too hot or poor air.

Projects change each week making it easy for campers to attend multiple weeks of camp without repeating projects, but further exploring the range and depth of mediums. We ensure a good balance between 2D and 3D projects, so whether your young artists prefers to build things and be hands on, paint, draw, or print things they'll be more than pleased! Our camps are not only fun, but an opportunity for young artists to explore art mediums that they typically do not get in school, education in art terminology and art history (including current artists). Even if we’re not near the ocean, we can still bring the beach to us! This fun, hands-on week is inspired by sandy shores, rolling waves, and ocean treasures—no travel required. You’ll create beach-inspired art using a variety of materials as you build sandcastle sculptures, design colorful seashell creations, and explore textures, shapes, and patterns inspired by the sea. Through drawing, painting, building, and crafting, you’ll experiment, play, and imagine what a day at the beach might look and feel like. Each day brings new projects and plenty of time for creativity, storytelling, and imaginative play in a supportive, playful environment. By the end of the week, you’ll have a collection of sunny, seaside-inspired artwork to take home and share. Perfect for young artists who love to create, explore, and imagine oceans near and far!
