At the Studio we're lucky to have ceramic artists eager to share their craft with your kids. This week-long camp will focus on a mixture of hand building and wheel throwing. We will create a variety of bowls, plates, cups, vases, and more while experimenting with surface design and glazes.

Over this week long camp, your child will learn multiple glazing techniques. Your children will be glazing the ceramics they made during our June camp session.

Join us for this 5-day camp in our Rebel Ceramics studio. Campers will be doing a combination of hand-building and pottery wheel projects, learning all about the clay body itself, the full ceramic process, different techniques, and glazing. Get those hands dirty,and do a deep dive into problem-solving skills. Ceramics camps for our 8-11 year olds will run every week of our 10 weeks of summer camp, boasting different projects each week for those who may want to join us for multiple weeks of ceramic fun! Please note that due to the nature of ceramics and the firing process, campers artworks will not be ready to take home on the last day, but will need to be picked up at a later date. We will reach out to notify parents when finished pieces are ready for pick up.

Explore the world of making your own clay creations! This class will teach you how to create several hand-built clay pieces. Students will be introduced to Kiln firing, and procedures, as well as stages of clay: Wet, Greenware, Bisqueware, and more. Each student will custom glaze each project, and have all pieces fired in our kiln. Many projects are “built upon” each class, so that students experience a variety of mediums and take home several projects. Projects are new every session, so sign-up for all sessions OR our school program for discounted rate.

During this week campers get to enjoy a different ceramic and slime daily. ​ We know going home we so many slimes and ceramics can be overwhelming - so we have you covered. We will also be mixing in some watercolor and acrylic projects throughout the week. Learn the skills necessary to throw cylinders, cups, bowls and more in this exciting introduction to throwing fundamentals. Your instructor guides you through the process of throwing, shaping and trimming pots on the wheel. Special handbuilding project and casting will also included. Basic surface decoration and glazing techniques are also demonstrated. This class is designed for students any level experience on the potter’s wheel. Those who have more experience will complete more pieces/ advanced techniques. Those learning will master the basic skills to create wheel thrown pieces. Register for all classes, as we will build on experience of the students. During our last class, we will meet the last 10-15 minutes of class for an Art Show Presentation. Students will showcase their pieces in an art show to guests. Parents- Invite grandparents, friends and family. All pieces go home the last day of class. Such a fun way for students to share what they have learned through process and design. Over this week long camp, your child will learn multiple hand building clay techniques including pinch pots, coil pots, and slab work. In our subsequent camp session titled "Ceramic Glazing" we will be offering a camp where your children will have a chance to glaze all of their ceramics made during this session.

We are offering 11 different art camps/ new curriculum for Art Camps this summer. Art Camp at All Things Art Studio is the best way to experience total immersion in a summer art program! It's fun & and students get a chance to delve into their creative selves without crazy time restraints. Students will also get to Tie Dye an All Things Art Studio Camp Shirt (or other item for repeat campers) on Day 1! (included in the fee of camp). In the mornings, they will be working on individual projects, and the afternoon art academy will give them a relaxed but focused exercise in fine arts. There will be landscape drawing and painting, and still life exploration. We explore drawing, clay, printmaking, textiles, weaving, watercolor, acrylics, tempera paint, glazing & more! We will work with canvas, clay, watercolor, tissue paper and many other types of medium as well. Every camp is a different curriculum, so please register for as many as you can :) It's an amazing week for students, they meet and make new art friends and enjoy the warm summer weather. Bring a sack lunch each day and a water bottle, We will have outdoor lunch & walk in the neighborhood- plus outdoor "en plain air" instruction in their daily journal/ sketchbook. Bring it on! Some of our Elementary, Middle School and High School groups will be offered at the same times & days (convenient for families with older & younger children). But the Camps will be separated by the groups and have different curriculum and locations within the studio. (MS/HS have a seperate registration with separate curriculum)

Ojai has a 100-year history of ceramics. Our studio, located a mile from the city center, is surrounded by nature, in the midst of a fruit orchard. We are a working studio for many of the great artists in the Ojai Valley. Visitors may watch potters work, and may "try their hand" at a range of techniques. After making their pottery, they may may pay a small fee for our staff to trim, glaze and high-fire the work. This "finishing" work takes about 3 weeks. Visitors may also come back to glaze their OWN work. There is no charge for this. AND we will even ship your pieces anywhere in the country...
