​This drawing class is designed for students of all levels of drawing experience, and would like to learn some advanced techniques and explore new mediums. Students will have the opportunity to explore with charcoal. colored chalk pastels, oil pastels, different graphites and more. Many projects are “built upon” each class, so that students experience a variety of mediums and take home several projects at the end of the session. During our last class, we will meet the last 10-15 minutes of class for an Art Show Presentation. Students will present their pieces in an art show to guests. Parents- Invite grandparents, friends and family. All pieces go home the last day of class. Such a fun way for students to share what they have learned through process and design.

The world of making your own clay creations! This class will teach you how to create several hand-built clay pieces. Students will be introduced to Kiln firing, and procedures, as well as stages of clay: Wet, Greenware, Bisqueware, and more. Each student will custom glaze each project, and have all pieces fired in our kiln. During our last class, we will meet the last 10-15 minutes of class for an Art Show Presentation. Sign up for each week- we have a new curriculum each week! Kids will enjoy 4 hours of Art and Art related Activities! Day Camp is a drop off program & for ages 4 and older. Each day includes a variety of Cookies & Canvas event, One Day Workshop, OR Pottery Painting & Open Studio time. Most projects will go home same day. (If they have pottery painting that day, they will need to be picked up following week) Kids enjoy stations as well as several art projects during their 4 hours of fun at the Art Studio! Groups separated by age under K-4 grades, 5-8 grades. Bring peanut free sack lunch, snack & water bottle. Please dress for the weather- as we do take a walk in the neighborhood and eat in the garden on days when we can.

Join us for this 5-day camp in our Rebel Ceramics studio. Campers will be doing a combination of hand-building and pottery wheel projects, learning all about the clay body itself, the full ceramic process, different techniques, and glazing. Get those hands dirty,and do a deep dive into problem-solving skills. Ceramics camps for our 8-11 year olds will run every week of our 10 weeks of summer camp, boasting different projects each week for those who may want to join us for multiple weeks of ceramic fun! Please note that due to the nature of ceramics and the firing process, campers artworks will not be ready to take home on the last day, but will need to be picked up at a later date. We will reach out to notify parents when finished pieces are ready for pick up.

Over this week long camp, your child will learn multiple hand building clay techniques including pinch pots, coil pots, and slab work. In our subsequent camp session titled "Ceramic Glazing" we will be offering a camp where your children will have a chance to glaze all of their ceramics made during this session.

Join us for this 5 day camp in our Rebel Ceramics studio. Campers will be learning different hand-building techniques through different projects. Campers will be learning all about the clay body, the full ceramic process (clay/greenware/bone dry/bisque ware/glazed ceramic), different hand-building techniques, and underglazing. Lets get those hands dirty, and do a deep dive into some ceramic creativity! Note that our 4-7 year olds are hand-build only (not learning the pottery wheel). Please note that due to the nature of ceramics and the firing process, camper's artwork pieces will not be ready to take home on the last day, but will need to be picked up at a later date. We will reach out to notify parents when finished pieces are ready for pick up typically about two weeks after camp.

During this week campers get to enjoy a different ceramic and slime daily. ​ We know going home we so many slimes and ceramics can be overwhelming - so we have you covered. We will also be mixing in some watercolor and acrylic projects throughout the week. From fluffy slime to glow in the dark and snow slime - we will keep the campers day filled with exciting activities!

Class Description:
This teen art class is designed for teens who are ready to begin exploring their creative potential and how to start developing their own artistic voice. Students will be introduced to, and encouraged to explore, a variety of mediums—including drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, and collage—while receiving personalized guidance from an experienced instructor. Whether they're interested in building their technical skills or discovering thier own unique style, this class offers the freedom to experiment and create at your own pace. New teen students will complete three pre-designed projects with their teacher's guidance to help aid them in learning how to set-up/clean-up supplies and materials, get a feel for what mediums are available, and allow teachers to get a feel for the student's level of skill and art knowledge. What They’ll Learn: Medium Exploration: Gain hands-on experience with a wide range of art forms, including pencil and charcoal drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, clay sculpture, printmaking, and collage techniques. Project Development: Learn how to conceptualize, plan, and execute your own independent projects. With teacher support, they’ll refine your ideas and bring them to life. Creative Techniques: Develop new skills in various artistic techniques, from layering and texture in mixed media to the technical aspects of ceramics and printmaking. Self-Expression: Find their own voice and style as they experiment with different materials and approaches to art-making. Critique & Feedback: Receive constructive feedback from the instructor and peers in a supportive and open environment to enhance their artistic process and growth. Ojai has a 100-year history of ceramics. Our studio, located a mile from the city center, is surrounded by nature, in the midst of a fruit orchard. We are a working studio for many of the great artists in the Ojai Valley. Visitors may watch potters work, and may "try their hand" at a range of techniques. After making their pottery, they may may pay a small fee for our staff to trim, glaze and high-fire the work. This "finishing" work takes about 3 weeks.
