In this creative 45 minute class we will enjoy art exploration, music and story time. We will come together for circle time, songs and story time. Then we will create art together while fostering friendships and socialization. It's such a fun class and we all enjoy it so much.

Here at the Studio we're stockpiled with art supplies that give young children the chance to explore a variety of topics and activities. Our art projects will reinforce emerging skills as we work on letters, numbers, colors, fine motor skills, and creative expression. This thoughtful combination is designed to expand and stimulate our youngest student’s minds in a fun, art-rich environment. NOTE: We will follow the Winchester Public School Calendar. There will be no Messy Mushy Preschool Art on days when Winchester Public Schools are closed or on half-days. While your child is welcome to register for Messy Mushy on multiple days of the week, please note our curriculum is designed to repeat the same set of projects in each class. We offer after school pick up from Neighborhood Coop Nursery School at 12pm for students attending the half day NCNS program.

This week we’re learning all about Cézanne, the french painter coined as “father of modern art”. With an emphasis on sensation rather than likeness, Cézanne bridged impressionism and cubism to influence a whole new era of art. Students will implement bold color as they depict a still life of oranges. Exploring familiar techniques like form and pattern, we will expand the class's comprehension as our focus shifts from realism to expression, broadening the use of their artistic skills.

It's time to let your creativity run wild in this week's Alexander Calder project. Famous for his kinetic abstract sculptures, Calder changed the game by introducing mobility to fine art. Students will mimic this adjustable art by incorporating various movable parts to wire and clay sculptures, challenging their concept of balance and design. Art Lessons perfect for ages 4-6 years. 1-hour class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our beginner classes throughout the school-year! Join us on Tuesday or Saturday each week... or whenever it's convenient for you! We do the same project each of those days for each week, and then something new for the next week! Dress for a mess! Please! We use acrylic paints and sometimes they are difficult to remove from clothes!

The Adult Studio Art class at The Atelier School of Art is designed for artists of all skill levels, from beginners looking to explore creativity to experienced artists wanting to refine their techniques. Our most popular summer program returns for Summer 2026: Art Lab! Does your child love to engage in the process of art making and experiment with new things? If so, Art Lab! is the week for them. This week will be chock full of exploration of art materials and may include things like making fizz art using baking soda, salt resist painting, kaleidoscope making, paper marbling with shaving cream and more! It's sure to delight the adventurous artist!

The Process Art class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session for ages 3-5, designed to encourage creativity, exploration, and sensory engagement. This class focuses on the experience of making art rather than the final product, allowing young artists to experiment with colors, textures, and materials in a fun and hands-on environment. Through painting, collage, and mixed media activities, children develop fine motor skills, confidence, and a love for creative expression.

Art returns to Gymboree!!!! Make colorful memories in the Gymboree Art Studio. Where they are: All children benefit from a space to be creative. Children are eager to explore different mediums, textures, and ways to express themselves. What to expect in class: Sculpt with a giant block of clay, design a family tree, paint a mural or make a creation of your very own. Benefits: Physical: Working with different textures supports sensory input, fine motor, and gross motor skills. Cognitive: Creating your own work supports confidence and problem-solving skills. Social: Not only are children learning social skills by sharing a work space and creating with others, they are also able to express themselves through another outlet before they have the verbal capacity to do so.
