This program is designed to provide enjoyable activities that help students ease into their day and prepare for school. At the end of Before Care, younger children will be escorted directly to their classrooms, while older children will walk to their classes independently. Please note, we do not provide breakfast. You are welcome to send a snack or breakfast with your child if needed. *All children must be registered prior to attending.* and must have submitted all required documents to the Director of Before Care. Our Before Care program is licensed under the Office of Children and Family Services, and we must maintain the regulations set by the state.

***This course is ONLY for Grades K-3*** MusicStart® is a patented progressive music learning system that balances fun and development of skills. Using familiar songs, it teaches all the necessary basics to get started playing music. The MusicStart® Keyboard uses 4 instructive Attachments that vary the challenge from color matching to letter matching to note matching and reading standard musical notation. MusicStart® is a preparation for (or a supplement to) playing any instrument and teaches step-by-step problem-solving. All materials are provided. We are excited to spend the week being creative, building community and making friendships. Drop Off is from 9am-9:30 and pick up is between 3:30-4:00pm. During our days together at Hilltop Creative Summer Camp we will start our mornings off with free exploration, morning greetings, snack and an indoor creative activity. Nature is a huge focus of Hilltop Creative. We will have outdoor time on neighborhood hikes and also will visit our local playgrounds and recreational areas Bernal Heights, Holly Park and St Mary's. Towards the end of the day we will gather indoors and will have an afternoon snack provided by Hilltop Creative.

For Grades 2–4 5-Session Series This super fun and high-energy 5-session class helps young speakers learn to think fast, speak boldly, and express themselves with confidence in ANY situation! Through exciting games, silly prompts, movement, and tons of speaking practice, students learn the exact tools they need to speak up without fear. Fun Lesson of the Day A quick, kid-friendly lesson teaches one impromptu skill—how to organize thoughts fast, how to start strong, or how to speak clearly without overthinking. Short, simple, and immediately useful. 3. Small-Group Practice + LOTS of Speaking Kids jump into pairs or small groups for fast-paced speaking rounds and silly challenges. Every child speaks multiple times each class and receives warm, supportive, personalized feedback. All sessions are led by our expert Highest Speak instructors, ensuring your child gets focused attention and guidance in a fun, supportive environment. For any more than 10 students, we always have two instructors to ensure plenty of individual attention and feedback. This lively, upbeat class helps kids find their brave voice, think on their feet, and shine—one fun, high-energy moment at a time!

Every year we love to read the books our campers create - Remember this camp sells out fast so don't delay. We print 1 copy for you child to enjoy and share with you - but additional copies are available for $20 each. The topic is completely up to your child and we assist with writing, spelling and any help they may need. We appreciate your patience with this camp as editing, and formatting does take some time. Please give us 3 weeks to turn the books around.

Winter Semester (January-Mid March) Students will exercise the imagination at the Art House. This class is designed to help our young artists learn and develop fine art skills that will also help them in writing and problem solving! Your child will be drawing, painting, and sculpting. Classes also expose them to art history. They are encouraged in their self expression while also learning to follow directions. Our projects are always new and engaging as they continue to grow in their abilities. We desire to build confidence and support their strengths. Classes are limited in sizes so sign your child up today!

Budding artists capturing multiple objects tend to begin with the largest or most attractive one first, finish it, and move on to the next. By studying multiple object composition, line and air perspective, as well as color mixing, students learn to depict multiple three-dimensional objects and build a solid foundation for future artistic study. Our academic method of teaching will open the eyes and minds of aspiring artists to see the myriad of colors and tones in everyday objects. With these foundational skills, students will learn techniques to express their creativity. Classes alternate between Drawing and Painting on a weekly basis. All skill levels welcome. Students will learn to draw and paint multiple objects as a group taking into account proportions, depth, structures, along with light and shadows. Using acrylic or oil, students will flex these core principles of composition to attain the freedom to draw and paint three-dimensional still-life, landscapes and fictional paintings. Procuring painting and drawing materials are the responsibility of each student, but we are of course happy to advise which ones we think are best.

We will be touring all around the Historic French Quarter and 2 historic surrounding neighborhoods of the Marigny and Treme. We will talk about the rich cultures, people and traditions of these neighborhoods that date back to the 1700's. From our beginnings as a Native American trading post to a raughty French penal colony to the rich African culture of music and Mardi Gras revelry, we will cover it all! 300 years of Creole history from a 6th generation New Orleanian! We start at the Mississippi river and take our time strolling through the French Quarter and chronologically move from the Quarter to the Treme and Marigny. Stops such as Jackson square, Congo square, St. Augustine Church and Frenchmen street and on to the French Market. Mid tour we will grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant and continue on to the most historically significant stops in the French quarter and surrounding neighborhoods.

Fully guided tours in Spanish, Stop at an Indian shopping plaza, Keep an eye out for Native American petroglyphs throughout the park, we will tour the entire Valley of Fire State Park, making stops at various interesting spots.

There are as many metaphors to describe what locals call 'down in the Buckskin' as there are people who have been there. I choose the word 'in' because you are literally inside the walls of the world's longest slot canyon. According to the Bureau of Land Management ('BLM') website, Buckskin Gulch is 16 miles long (around 26 km) from the Buckskin Trailhead to the Paria Canyon and over 500 feet (around 150m) deep at its confluence with the Paria River. There are places in the Buckskin where you are able to touch both canyon walls at the same time. Buckskin Gulch is a photographer's and hiker's Mecca. Every corner you turn is changing continuously; the cliffs are water-and-wind-sculpted patterns of colors, light and shadows. You may also marvel and puzzle at the meanings of the rock writings (petroglyphs) from the early Archaic period (some are as old as 9,000 years). It was voted one the top 10 hikes in the world by National Geographic Adventure Magazine a few years back.
