K-2 Session 2: Shape Sleuths

Calling all Geometry enthusiasts, get ready to explore shapes of all sizes, both two-dimensional and three-dimensional! We'll dive into shapes, learning how to put them together to make new ones and even take them apart! We'll learn about their sides, edges, vertices, corners, and how they're different. We'll even discover how to build new shapes by putting smaller ones together and how to divide them into equal parts like halves, thirds, and fourths! We will support our geometric understanding through the use of math tools including pattern blocks, plane and solid shapes, and even create our own shapes with toothpicks and clay. Get ready for hands-on activities, shape sorting challenges, and building adventures that will make you a geometry superstar!
