What your child’s day will look like
Get ready for a fun-filled week of geometric discovery! This summer camp is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of geometry through hands-on activities, creative projects, and collaborative challenges. We'll move beyond the basics, exploring shapes in two and three dimensions, and uncovering the geometry hidden in everyday objects. Campers will develop spatial reasoning skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deeper appreciation for the shapes that surround us. Just Some of the Activities and Projects: • Pentominoes Puzzles: Students explore investigations using pentomino puzzles developing spatial reasoning and problem-solving skills. • Pattern Block Creations: Campers use pattern blocks to create designs, explore symmetry, and learn about tessellations. • Toothpick and Clay Structures: Students build 3D shapes using toothpicks and clay, learning about vertices, edges, and faces. • Mystery Shapes: A game where students use clues and deductive reasoning to identify hidden geometric shapes. • Artifact Bag: Campers collect everyday objects and analyze their geometric properties, connecting geometry to the real world. • Geometry Games: Throughout the week, campers will play various geometry-themed games to reinforce concepts and make learning fun.
