Maple Tree Childcare is a small home daycare program on the Johnston/Cranston line in RI. We are deeply inspired by Lifeways, Waldorf Education and time spent in nature. Our days are filled with song, stories, meaningful life skills, handwork projects, wholesome organic meals and most importantly ample time to play both indoors and outdoors. We enjoy a dependable daily rhythm that includes free play (inside and out), morning activity, snack time, circle time with song and movement games, story time using the told story tradition, lunch and rest. Our weekly rhythm is as follows - Monday: washing, Tuesday: handwork / toy mending, Wednesday: painting, Thursday: baking, Friday: gardening. Maple Tree Childcare is a mixed-age program serving families with children 1 - 4 years of age. No more than 3 children each day allows for lots of time, love and nurturing for each young child. Samantha Seibert (or Miss Sam, as she is known) is the teacher at Maple Tree and has been an early childhood educator for over 10 years. She has a RI State Teaching Certification for Early Childhood. She has worked with (and learned from) Mariposa, Meadowbrook Waldorf School, Bloom, and Little Friends Farm. After the birth of her son last March she opened Maple Tree Childcare and has been delighted to serve RI families by providing gentle, loving childcare in a home setting. While originally started in Providence, we are now happily nestled into our new home in Johnston, right off exit 4 from Route 295 and about 15 minutes from Providence.
