Our son started at Little Stars when he was about 3.5 months old. It was so stressful leaving him, but over time it was clear he really didn't mind us leaving! The teachers were incredibly communicative (wrote down his schedule on a whiteboard every day) and have never taken more than a day or two to answer a question we might have. Our little infant grew into a toddler and would come home having learned new things that were so fun for us to discover that he knew! The teachers really went above and beyond, taking him on field trips and doing arts and crafts and even sending him home with a holiday present! We would also have parent-teacher conferences to talk about anything related to his development or milestones we could start thinking about encouraging, and it's just helpful to talk to someone who's seen so many different kids instead of wondering if you're doing it all wrong as a first time parent. Bottom line; we never worried about his happiness when we dropped him off! I was hesitant to go to a home daycare, but you should do it! Jes is incredibly responsive via email/text/phone, and that mattered a lot to me as I was choosing a place. It felt like we were getting the organization and professionalism of a daycare center (especially during the uncertainty of covid -- I think Little Stars did much better than daycare centers, at least from what my friends tell me), but the benefits of a smaller community (ie, fewer germs and getting to know other families). I'm convinced that my kid learned as much from the other children (it's a mixed age group) as he did from the teachers. He is very gentle around babies (I'm sure he saw the teachers with the infants), and started moving around a lot to try and keep up with the older kids! If not for covid and our health issues, we would have definitely stayed. We look forward to coming back to Little Stars soon!

Panda Bilingual Daycare is a bilingual Mandarin- English early educational childcare center combining the Montessori educational philosophy with Chinese and American language and culture. Our center's mission is to offer the highest quality care and education for children from three months to kindergarten entry.

The Panda Bilingual Daycare curriculum is inspired by many of the tenets of Maria Montessori's educational theory and practice, along with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and our own unique features. The core of the Montessori curriculum is divided into four main areas: sensory, practical life, language, and mathematics. Many of the materials and methods we use are derived from her work. The children will also explore cultural, scientific and historical subjects such as geography, geology, zoology and botany at levels appropriate to their development.

At Panda Bilingual Daycare, we encourage children to learn Chinese not only through art and music and literature, but also through listening and reading the Chinese children's classics such as The Analects, Tang and Song Poetry, which have been a part of children's education for thousands of years. These works of literature and philosophy and history remain relevant in our current society. The authoritative research tells us that exposure to literature from the earliest ages has significant and measurable results on brain development. Children thrive on being read to and interacting with books from the time they are born.

The outdoor classroom is an important part of our curriculum. Our outdoor classroom is surely a playground, in which the children can run and jump and play together. But it is also a natural extension of their classrooms, in which the children will have the daily experience of learning surrounded by a bit of nature. They can spend time noticing the animal and plant life, finding a bird's nest, watching the life cycle of a butterfly, growing and caring for plants, as well as playing in the sand, balancing on tree stumps, lounging in the child sized hammocks. Children can paint and draw what they see on the outdoor easels and experiment with sound and music on the thunder drum and musical fence.
