The program is usually bilingual between English and Spanish. The kids get to work with both languages, which gives them a huge advantage in life. I am very hands-on with the kiddos and love to play with them. We play music, we go on field trips, we do art, reading, and tons of engaging learning through play. For outdoor play, we go to the playground behind my home or the historical navy yard around the corner where the children can learn about history and also play in the water fountain in the summer. We're also partnered with an agency called Child Development that facilitates field trips for the kids as well. We'll go sometimes to the aquarium, go for picnics, and even involve parents in the trips too! We firmly believe that a busy kid is a happy kid! My favorite activity to do with the kids is art. I love working with different mediums and seeing how the children express themselves differently. I am so proud of everything they create! Something that is super important to me is nutrition. I love to cook and always prepare meals for the children that are healthy and filling. I even give parents food when they come to scoop their child up and they give me the best compliments! It makes me so happy to send the children home with a full belly. My overall mission is to provide the highest quality care that I can from the time they're enrolled in my program to the time they set off for school. I provide the educational resources plus the development in other areas, such as social and emotional, that the children need in order to be prepared for the future. And I do it all in the most fun way! When they go to kindergarten or preschool, I know they're all set and that they've developed a love for learning that will stay with them for years to come.
