Debora (Debbie) is an openhearted and generous person who devotes all her energy to the children when she is around them. You can tell she really loves kids as she immerses herself in what they are doing and fully engages with them when she babysits for us. We met her last year when she started babysitting our then 3 year old twins when we went out on date nights and other social events. After a couple of times of babysitting, the kids would ask when she would be coming back to play. She loves drawing/coloring with them, playing with play dough, reading, and just being with them. She is punctual and also clearly communicates what she needs more information about regarding schedules for the kids and food related info/meal planning. Writing things down also helps when it comes to meal planning.

Part Time Caregiver Available For Babies, Children Or Seniors

Avg response < 3 hrs
I worked as teacher's aide and teacher substitute in several preschools over a four year period. Duties included providing a stimulating, safe and fun learning environment for the children, clothing and diapering, listening, comforting and encouraging. I also took care of six foster children (never more than two at a time) in my home between ages of newborn to 6 years over a period of five years, and most of all have successfully raised my own child, now in college. For the past 15 years in Africa, I worked with mothers of young children to encourage them in good child rearing practices. I began a daycare learning center for impoverished school age children and another daycare for children 6 months to 5 years. I have taught Sunday school for elementary age children. Also, I enjoy helping out the elderly. I was a part time activities director for a couple of years in the late 80s as well as with the Dept of Recreation in Maryland. I ran my own house cleaning service for awhile which helps me understand how to help in maintaining order and cleanliness while helping others. For the past year, I have worked as a nanny for three children, ages 1, 5, and 6 years and the previous 4 months with children ages 9 and 12. My duties included house cleaning, laundry, monitoring homework, meal/snack preparation, and transporting of children to school and activities, all of which I enjoyed very much.

Loving, Experienced And Passionate Nanny

Hi, I am Shalom. I am 34 years old. I have extensive training and experience caring for infants, toddlers and children, including multiples. I am a professional, qualified and responsible nanny, who is very passionate about working as an early childcare educator. I don't only take care of basic physical needs like safety, good nutrition and good hygiene. I also work with the parents and do my best to help the children I care for, grow and develop to their fullest potential by forming good habits, having good manners, being fair, courteous and considerate of others. I teach them to be able to solve problems on their own. Also to have a positive self image, I encourage them to express their feeling and desires and to use their creativity. My philosophy of teaching good behavior is through positive reinforcement, making sure they are listened, feel loved and respected and given as much attention as possible; and if needed give them timeouts, I think the important thing is good communication and to be consistent. I take the children I care for to fun outings: parks, museums, libraries, theaters so they can explore have fun and learn new things and interact with different people. I also have experience as an ESL teacher. I am also certified in CPR and First Aid, Infant & Child Health and Safety, Child Development-Ages and Stages, Age Appropriate Activities, Building Positive Self Concepts in Children, Nutrition and Feeding. I am fun, have lots of ideas and skills for crafts and teaching. I am very good at preparing healthy snacks, purees and meals for the children I care for, also have a lot of experience and techniques for feeding. I am very organized and don't mind doing housework, including, laundry, cleaning, dishes, sweeping and keeping rooms clean and straight. I am patient and responsible. I have lived in MD for the last 9 years working as a nanny. Before that, I lived in Brazil where I worked as a nanny and teacher for 4 years. I absolutely love children.

Welcome to the Learn, Play & Grow Daycare program. I have 10 years of pre-K teaching experience. My goal is to provide a safe, secure environment for your child that fosters physical, social, emotional and cognitive development. Parents, as a child's first and most important teachers, are a vital part of my program. While you are participating in the program, I hope to develop a partnership among the home, my program and the school system.

My program serves children from two through four years old. Activities are designed to provide stimulating experiences for the children where they can learn through their own inquisitiveness. The emphasis during the toddler and preschool years is on building self-confidence and fostering the natural curiosity that toddlers and preschoolers possess.

Throughout the day, children enjoy the large variety of play materials that are readily made available to them, as well as creative centers where children can enjoy fun sensory table. Art, music, language, math and science activities geared to little hands activities such as playing dress up, building with blocks and experimenting at the are also introduced.

We offer the tenderness, warmth and patience so essential to this young age. Children feel comfortable in our setting when their parents leave. Deep respect for each child ensures that your child will truly love his or her school environment and, from that, develop and long-lasting love for learning.
