I am a mother of three living in Alameda, originally from Nepal. All my children are grown up. I have always been serious in caring for children and have never overlooked their needs. I am completely free and staying at home and wish to look after other children whose parents are busy. I have taken all the immunizations required including TDaP (Whooping cough), flu shots, measles, mumps, rubella and have cleared the Tuberculosis test.

We had the pleasure of working with Manjula for 3 weeks while we were transitioning our 22 month old to daycare and needed some help between our previous nanny and daycare starting. I hired Manjula based on her stellar reviews, and within the first day it became very apparent why she received such great reviews. Manjula was very dependable, always arrived on time (early a few times too) was very communicative and brought such wonderful energy and positivity the second she stepped in the door. Our son can be a bit shy but within the first few days, he was a fan (just like us). In fact he still asks about her from time to time. Besides going above and beyond on everything we asked her to help with, she also cooked like a 5 star chef (I kept telling her she needs to open her restaurant!). Initially, she would flag which vegetables or grains might be going bad soon asking if she can cook with them - and would whip up the most wonderful meals. Eventually, I ordered groceries based on meals she mentioned she could cook and she would do so during our son's naps. I asked her to leave me her amazing recipes and I can't wait to cook them. We cannot recommend Manjula enough. She was so great with our son, very communicative, played with him at our home and the park (sending us updates through photos) cooked us and him amazing meals, read to him, had such great energy and was extremely proactive and gave us some great parenting advice which we took (like replacing some of our son's milk bottle tops which she noticed he would chew and possibly eat some small particles). She also proactively organized his clothes, the cabinet where his dishes are kept, and all his toys. She felt like part of the family and we've been in touch with her after she left as well. You will not be disappointed - hire Manjula, she is the best!

Hey there :), My name is Alxzyndria, most families call me Lexy for short! I am an Educator, Artist, and Nature lover. I have been working as an Educator for the last 11 years primarily as an English Teacher in China (2011-2018), as well as a Mandarin Teacher in SF (2018-2019 pre-COVID). Working with children and families is a sincere passion of mine. I love to be a witness of the growth and development of children on their explorations of life. For me it is important to hold space and encouragement for children as they explore and find independence in the world while being a gentle guide by their side. Typically I incorporate themes of nature and art into the time I spend caring for or teaching little ones. STEAM and Reggio Emilia are also a part of my repertoire and parts of these practices may also find their way into my expressions, discipline, and encouragement. Thank you for taking your time to read this and please reach out if you have any questions!

We hired Alxzyndria (AKA Lexy) when my boys (10 and 8 years old) were out of school in the summer. Lexy taught my kids Chinese, Math, and writing classes. She also planned many fun activities for the kids from cooking to science projects. My kids love and adore Lexy. They miss Lexy on the weekends and look forward to see her on Mondays. Lexy did all this in a very kind and calm manner. Her calm and loving presents made our summer so enjoyable during COVID. Thank you, Lexy!

I highly recommend this school and day care. I know when I drop my son off, that he is in great hands. He receives healthy home cooked meals, a tailored bilingual education, exercise and fresh. When we're home, he will often tell me that he misses/loves his teachers and school and I know the feeling is mutual. Martina sends me adorable pictures and updates throughout the day which I deeply appreciate. Alex is very warm and helped my son a lot in getting used to going to school for the first few weeks. I love absolutely everything about this school.

Discover an authentic Montessori school in the heart of Emeryville.

Our preschool campus offers programs for infants (3 months) through kindergarten (6 years), where children experience an authentic Montessori environment. Our trained teachers have created beautifully prepared spaces. They, together with the assistant teachers and after school staff, are a passionate group of educators eager to make your child's first school experience joyful and rewarding.

Our loft-like spacious preschool building, a converted former warehouse, features purpose-built classrooms, with child-height sinks, small toilets, bright windows and direct access to the outside from each classroom. In the back of the building, secured from the street via fencing and sturdy stores, children play on a natural play area, complete with grass, a sandbox, and a hill with a slide. A rooftop deck excites children with gardening boxes and a tricycle path. Infants have a cozy separate play area all their own. On rainy days, all children enjoy access to an indoor gross motor area, complete with climbing wall, which is also a great place for active after school programs, such as yoga and gymnastics.

For toddlers and preschool, you can choose between an English language Montessori program, or a Mandarin immersion program, where the entire Montessori experience is delivered in Mandarin Chinese. Infants experience a bilingual program (with both Mandarin-speaking and English-speaking staff). Whether you are an English monolingual, looking for a more global education, or a Chinese-speaker who wants to help your child to learn Chinese in a more joyful way, we invite you to discover Mandarin Montessori at LePort.
