We have two children: 12. 5 & 10.
Our 12. 5yo is a Star Wars/Mandalorian, & Percy Jackson fan, a Lego master, and sketch artist.
Our 10yo loves trains, Legos, music, and drawing.
We are musicians and are looking for early evening (5-9) or late evening (8p-12a/1a) childcare.
Our 10-year-old is on the autism spectrum and has speech delay. He expresses his needs, but his language/development is about a 3-6-year-old range and he uses scripting as a means of communication and play.
Ideally, we need a person who is experienced with special needs kids who have mild sensory processing issues, speech delays, and cognitive delays.
ABA skills & speech skills are needed: as the visual schedules, social stories, & simple speech techniques, plus the training on deescalating toddler-like behaviors/tantrums (when he does not get his way) are very useful aides for our child.
