The Point Breeze Head Start Center is located in the heart of Southwest Philadelphia. Opened in September 2014, MELC Point Breeze was developed in partnership with Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) in Philadelphia.
The center is stillaccepting applications for children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. Children must be 3 years old by September 1st to enter the program. Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive early childhood educational program for income eligible families. Head Start programs offer not only a high-quality and structured classroom experience, but also include access to vision and dental screenings, nutritional services, family engagement, parent resources, and assistance with the transition to Kindergarten.
